What is cold forging?

We provide a consistent process from material selection to cold forging process design, ensuring high quality and quick delivery!

Our cold forging process uses wire materials (coil materials) and involves the plastic deformation of iron and non-ferrous materials (wire) at room temperature using specialized molds to shape them into desired forms. Additionally, there are processes such as warm forging and hot forging, which involve applying heat to the materials for shaping. 【Features】 - We design our molds in-house, allowing for quick responses. - A consistent production system from material selection to cold forging process design. - We have 10 part formers with a forging capacity of 35 tons to 450 tons (for supply material diameters from φ8 to φ33). Moreover, our company can process not only simple iron but also non-ferrous materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and copper, although there are some limitations. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Achievements] Cold forging of parts for 2.5-inch HDDs

Introduction of cold forging parts for 2.5-inch HDDs!

We would like to introduce our achievements in "cold forging" for "2.5-inch HDD components." Forging processes can be broadly divided into hot forging, warm forging, and cold forging. Hot and warm forging involve applying heat to the blanks that form the basis of the products to improve workability, while cold forging allows for the shaping of high-precision parts at room temperature. Additionally, it enables targeting dimensions close to the final product, resulting in good material yield. Moreover, since processes such as cutting and heat treatment can be omitted, it leads to cost reduction. On the other hand, because the burden on the molds is significant, it is necessary to create molds that take into account the durability of the parts. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

The key to high precision in cold forging parts: "Cold forging + secondary processing."

Realization of high precision parts through cold forging and secondary processing!

We would like to introduce our key technology for high-precision parts, "cold forging + secondary processing." The conversion of manufacturing methods brings energy-saving benefits and contributes to the preservation of the global environment. Furthermore, by in-house manufacturing secondary processing equipment such as CNC lathes, machining, and pipe forming in addition to cold forging, we can achieve high-precision and competitive parts processing. *For more details, please refer to the external link page or feel free to contact us.

Strengths of a "one-stop system" from prototype and design to mass production of cold forging.

We will introduce the strengths of our "one-stop system" from prototype development and design to mass production!

Our company maintains a consistent process for product development from the conceptual stage of rough sketches to mass production in-house. Even if issues are discovered during the production process, we can quickly trace back through the steps to identify the cause, allowing for speedy improvements and corrections. We handle many projects starting from rough sketches and conceptual proposals, and we excel in making specifications that consider mass production in terms of cost, quality, weight, and workability from the prototyping stage. *For more details, please refer to the external link page or feel free to contact us.

Features of cold forging

By using minimal materials (near-net shape), shaping can be performed, reducing losses from cutting!

Cold forging is a method of compressively forming metal materials such as carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and non-ferrous metals using molds. Cold forged components have the characteristic of higher dimensional accuracy during forming compared to other forged parts. The surface condition is better than that of hot forging and warm forging, so finishing processes may not be necessary. By performing intermediate annealing and lubrication treatment, it becomes possible to precisely forge large products and high-strength materials. 【Features】 ■ Reduced loss from machining ■ Higher accuracy during forming compared to hot forging and warm forging ■ Fiber flow (fibrous structure) is not cut, improving wear resistance *For more details, please refer to the external link page or feel free to contact us.

[Research and Development Case] Stainless Steel Cold Forging

Cycle time for cutting processes is reduced by near-net shape through cold forging!

I would like to introduce a case study on the research and development of stainless steel cold forging. In conventional methods, there were issues such as poor material yield and low production capacity, as well as long processing cycle times due to total cutting. With the new technology and methods, cold forging enables near-net shape production, improving material yield and reducing material costs and cutting processing cycle times, resulting in cost reduction. 【Customer Issues with Conventional Methods】 ■ Poor material yield: 40% ■ Low production capacity: 100 to 3,000 pieces/month ■ Long processing cycle times due to total cutting: High component costs *For more details on the case study, you can view it through the related links. For more information, please feel free to download the PDF or contact us.

[VA Case] 36 Hexagonal Cold Forging with Through Hole Drilling

Reduction of material loss and shortening of processing time is possible! We have re-evaluated manufacturing without being constrained by processing methods.

We would like to introduce a case of "drilling through a 36 hexagonal cold forged part." Previously, during processing with cold forging, there were instances where the fiber flow would break while drilling the inner diameter hole of the 36 hexagon, resulting in incomplete drilling and only processing the non-through part of the inner tube. By changing the forging method, we were able to achieve through-holes, which allowed us to reduce the amount of material input and cutting time. [Focus Points] - Reduction of man-hours - Reduction of material costs - Inadequate supply that matches costs based on size *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Challenges and Solutions in Prototype Development and Manufacturing [*Currently Available for Free!*]

A case study explaining eight common issues in prototype and development sites, such as 'there is variation in product accuracy between prototyping and mass production' and their solutions!

The 'Challenges and Solutions in Prototype Manufacturing and Development' is a case study document that explains common 'concerns' and 'issues' faced by personnel in prototype and development settings, along with their solutions. It introduces numerous solutions that can only be achieved through Mazda's five-axis machining. 【Do you have any of these concerns? (A few examples)】 ■ There are no vendors willing to prototype products that are overly complex in design... ■ I need micron-level precision even for large parts... ■ There is variability in product precision between prototyping and mass production, leading to a lack of stability... *Please view the PDF data of 'Challenges and Solutions in Prototype Manufacturing and Development' from the download.
