Business Introduction: Products and Explanation Panel of New Construction Method Using Plate Forging/Cutting Composite Technology

A new method product focused on high aspect ratio thin-walled molding.

The conventional manufacturing method for traditional products, in the case of [press drawing processing], has TA nearly equal to TB, processing of thickness differences is not possible, it involves multiple processes, and the drawing R remains, with some shapes having different inner and outer profiles being impossible. In the case of [plate forging → piercing], the minimum inner diameter D = H/2, the outer shape deforms due to the side pressure of the piercing. However, the new method from Ito Manufacturing Co., [forging/shearing composite processing], allows for as few as four processes, minimal corner R, the ability to process thickness differences, the possibility of shapes with different inner and outer profiles, and an aspect ratio of up to 6.6, enabling various types of processing. Additionally, we carry out everything from progressive die design and manufacturing to press part processing consistently. We have realized a highly productive press processing factory with high efficiency and speed, leveraging high-precision progressive die manufacturing technology. Our equipment includes 80 automatic presses (15 tons to 600 tons), 9 machining centers, 11 wire cut electric discharge machines, 5 surface grinding machines, among others. Introduction of three processing technologies

Introduction to "Sequential Forging Processing," "Precision Shearing Processing," and "Prototype Processing"!

Sato Metal Industry is a press parts manufacturer that performs forging, precision shearing, and three-dimensional molding in a progressive manner. Starting with "progressive forging processing," which involves partial thickening, thinning, and pressing of uneven shapes and sharp edges from sheet materials, we also offer "precision shearing processing" that achieves shear surfaces equivalent to fine blanking (FB) without using FB, utilizing general-purpose machines and high-performance presses. Additionally, in "prototype processing," we realize machining that was not possible with conventional press processing. 【Three Processing Technologies】 ■ Progressive Forging Processing ■ Precision Shearing Processing ■ Prototype Processing *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Aluminum plate forging processing

In press processing, we create three-dimensional shapes in the height direction from sheet material.

Plate forging technology is a technique used in press processing to create three-dimensional shapes in the height direction from plate materials. At Kato Manufacturing Co., Ltd., we process products for heat exchangers using aluminum materials (difficult-to-machine materials), and we utilize this plate forging technology at the fastening parts when fitting the upper case and lower plate together. In particular, we perform cold forging, which compresses the plate material using molds, and we have implemented processing with general press machines instead of special press machines using the swaging technique (a forming method that reduces height while simultaneously increasing cross-section by applying pressure in the axial direction). **Features of Plate Forging Technology** - Creates three-dimensional shapes in the height direction from plate materials in press processing. - Many press machines developed specifically for plate forging processing are now available. Press processing problem-solving case study: Cold forging processing (compression processing)

Introduction of examples of dowel pin extraction processing through cold forging.

A group of specialists in precision press processing that handles everything from the design and manufacturing of progressive press molds to the mass production of precision press parts has the solution! We will introduce a case study of our dowel pin extraction technology using cold forging techniques. The product is formed into a dowel (pin) with a total height of 1.7mm from the bottom surface using SPCE with a thickness of 1.2mm. We crush the thickness down to 0.8mm and use a processing method that gathers material into the boss, resulting in a flat finish on the back surface. Compared to pin insertion, this method excels in processing costs, strength, and precision, making it an effective value-added proposal for products that involve pin insertion processes. For more details, please contact us or refer to our catalog.

High freedom, inexpensive, and high quality! Hot forging processing / cold forging processing.

Hot forging: Low deformation resistance, allowing for the forging of complex-shaped parts! Cold forging: Reduces material loss, shortens processing time, and enables cost reduction.

■Hot Forging A processing method that involves heating metal to soften it before compressing it into shape, resulting in low deformation resistance and the ability to forge complex-shaped parts. Compared to other forging methods, it offers the highest degree of freedom, allowing us to provide low-cost, high-quality products. ■Cold Forging A processing method that compresses metal at room temperature, allowing for the production of more precise products compared to hot forging. It reduces material loss compared to cutting processes, shortens processing time, and enables cost reduction of the processed products. We provide high-quality products even for complex shapes. 【Manufacturing Examples】 ■Driven Gear Forging ■Materials: SS, SC, SK, SCM, SKS, CRV ■Processing Precision: Forging only ±0.1mm ■Surface Treatment: Shot blast finish, etc. * We can propose surface treatments according to your requirements. * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
