[AI Image Inspection Case] QR Code Reading

We will read two QR codes using AI image inspection software and record them!

This is an inquiry from a company we have been doing business with even before we started working on infrastructure systems. We sent samples for testing the reading of QR codes to verify the size at which they can be read. QR codes are commonly seen everywhere as highly practical codes. Our inspection software includes basic functions for saving inspection results in CSV and image formats. Our code reading functionality is utilized in various management tasks by manufacturers. 【Inspection Settings and Results】 By using the "Bar/QR Code Reading" feature of EasyInspector, we were able to read codes at two locations. The failure indicated in the left image shows that "QR width: approximately 33 pixels is unreadable," while "QR width: approximately 40 pixels is unstable." The pass shown in the right image indicates that "QR width: approximately 47 pixels is stable." We conducted several reading tests with a combination of a 14-megapixel camera and an 8mm lens. By setting the environment so that the width of one QR code is around 50 pixels, it was possible to read the code.

[AI Image Inspection Case] Label Position and Presence of Parts

We will inspect the position of the label attached to the product, the text written on it, the confirmation of the type of the implementation part, and the presence of screws all at once!

We received an inquiry about the versatility of our software "EasyInspector" as you want to increase productivity. In the captured images of a single inspection surface, there were 14 judgment items. 【Inspection Settings and Results】 By using the "Color Comparison Inspection / Comparison with Master Image" function of EasyInspector, we were able to set inspections for all items and make judgments in less than 1.29 seconds. For frame number 001, it was set to ensure that the overall image does not rotate when there is a misalignment in the rotation of the workpiece. For frame numbers 002, 003, and 004, we checked whether the text is displayed correctly. For frame numbers 005 to 010, we inspected whether the labels are correctly affixed and checked for positional deviations. For frame numbers 011, 013, and 015, we set the inspection for the type and position of the components. For frame numbers 012 and 014, we set the inspection for the presence or absence of screws. Currently, inspections can be performed with the 'EasyInspector2' color package using the comparison with the master image.

The molded products in sheet metal processing often require precise accuracy. This time, we conducted an inspection of the curvature angle using two inspection frames. We will conduct a screw presence/absence inspection of aluminum parts in shining gray, white, and brown colors.

This time, we received a request from a major sash manufacturer for an inspection of aluminum parts in Shining Gray, White, and Brown colors, checking for the presence or absence of screws. This customer has also made multiple verification requests, and we are utilizing our image inspection software in various ways. The verification was conducted based on photos of the manufacturing line sent via email. 【Inspection Settings and Results】 By using the "Presence or Absence of Specified Color" function of EasyInspector, we were able to inspect each color. We set the shift correction to feature recognition and illuminated the product from a 45-degree angle above, which was key to highlighting the screw threads during inspection. In the welding section, small defects such as tears, bead misalignment, and blowholes may occur.
