We would like to introduce the "HARTING connector internal disconnection repair work" conducted in Belawan, Indonesia. In early January 2020, we brought a fusion splicer on board, removed the disconnection point on-site, and fused the fiber from a HARTING connector-equipped optical fiber cable that we had previously manufactured. The repair was successfully completed. Due to the large size of the connector and the short length of the fiber, we prepared for various situations, which made the fusion work challenging, but it went well. The "QHK-1" is a bare fiber adapter that can be used directly after stripping or cleaving the coating with a commercially available fiber holder (just insert the fiber). There are two types of capillaries: SC type (outer diameter φ2.5) and SMA type (outer diameter φ3.172), and even if the fiber extends long from the holder, the V-groove guides it easily into the ferrule hole.
