Overcoming adverse conditions through securing film thickness and substrate treatment!" ~Challenges~ In a chemical plant, there are trace amounts of chemical odors and vaporized gases lingering indoors. This phenomenon has caused corrosion of painted control panels and equipment. A coating with chemical resistance was required. ~Proposal~ To achieve a coating that withstands outdoor conditions and is resistant to chemicals (pesticides), we proposed powder coating. Additionally, to meet the outdoor specifications, we suggested a phosphate coating treatment that is strong against weathering. ~Results~ Despite the harsh outdoor conditions and the environment with chemical dispersion, the film thickness of the powder coating increased weather resistance and chemical resistance. A coating with effective chemical resistance was needed. ~Proposal~ To enhance the rust prevention effect of metals, we proposed a phosphoric acid coating treatment instead of just degreasing as a pre-treatment. Additionally, we suggested using high-performance powder coatings to improve chemical resistance. ~Results~ By switching to powder coating, we were able to secure the coating film, which improved the rust prevention effect of the metal. They were also considering the potential health impacts caused by the paint and sought manufacturing equipment with high safety standards. ~Proposal~ To improve the adhesion between the substrate and the paint and prevent peeling, we proposed a phosphate coating treatment as a pre-treatment. Additionally, considering the food manufacturing machinery, we suggested using powder coatings to enhance safety for human health. ~Results~ By adding the pre-treatment, the adhesion between the metal substrate and the paint improved, leading to a reduction in paint film peeling.
