We would like to introduce the prototype and molding of silicone rubber conducted at Shin-Ei Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Using vacuum casting equipment, we mold silicone rubber. The resin mold (generally made of acrylic, a resin version of the mold) is machined through cutting processes. We would like to introduce a case study of silicone rubber prototyping and molding that we conducted. We created 3D data from the clay model provided. By going through several rounds of retakes, we pursued an optimal shape. Next, using a resin mold for silicone injection molding, we repeated the prototyping process multiple times to finalize the shape and hardness, after which mass production was carried out at our partner factory.
