The sintering process of coke powder used in blast furnaces at steel mills is the largest source of NOx emissions in steelworks, leading to a demand for NOx reduction from sinter plant exhaust gases. To address this, the "Dow Mixer" was introduced with the aim of producing granules coated with slaked lime on the surface of coke powder for NOx reduction.
