Processing aids (Polymer Processing Aids: PPA) are effective additives in the extrusion molding of polyolefin films, helping to prevent melt fracture and sharkskin, reduce die lip build-up, lower back pressure, and improve productivity. Traditionally, fluoropolymers have been the main component of processing aids. These fluoropolymers are classified as PFAS (perfluoroalkyl substances and polyfluoroalkyl compounds), and there has been recent discussion regarding the need for management and regulation of PFAS. At INGENIA, we have developed and manufactured processing aid masterbatches that do not contain fluoropolymers or silicones. This non-fluorinated processing aid MB has been highly regarded for its effectiveness and is adopted and used by many polyolefin film manufacturers.

Free membership registrationLUVOCOM XCF is a special carbon fiber reinforced compound material known as "eXtra Carbon Fiber" developed by the German company Lehvoss. It achieves a tensile strength of up to 420 MPa and a tensile modulus of up to 50 GPa, exhibiting excellent impact strength, making it a very high-strength and high-rigidity thermoplastic resin material. It has low thermal expansion, resulting in excellent dimensional accuracy. Due to these characteristics, it can be widely used as a metal alternative or as a substitute for CFRP/GFRP, where high mechanical properties are required, and it is expected to provide weight reduction and cost-saving benefits. On the other hand, it is also possible to aim for further weight reduction by using it instead of glass short fiber or glass long fiber reinforced resins. The specific gravity of carbon fiber is about 1.8, which is lower than that of glass fiber at about 2.5, and the amount of fiber needed to achieve similar mechanical properties is less, allowing for a weight reduction of up to about 30% compared to using glass fiber reinforced resin. By using materials with a smaller amount of fiber, moldability improves, and design freedom increases.

Free membership registrationSince the start of the compound business in 1983, the development and manufacturing of lubricating compounds has been the core business of Lehvoss. By using unique formulations of lubricants and reinforcing materials, we have achieved improvements in tribological performance such as friction and wear characteristics and sliding properties. Common lubricants include PTFE, graphite, and silicone oil, but PTFE is a type of PFAS. PFAS stands for perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, and there are currently various discussions and proposals regarding their manufacture and use, with the industry seeking alternative materials. At Lehvoss, we have been developing PFAS-free lubricating compounds since the 1990s, before discussions about PFAS became active, and these compounds have been adopted in many applications. PFAS-free lubricating compounds are based on engineering plastics and super engineering plastics such as PA66, PA46, PBT, PPS, and PEEK, and include various formulations with additives utilizing nanotechnology. We can propose suitable compounds according to your application.

Free membership registrationUHMW-PE stands for Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene. UHMW-PE is a type of polyethylene with an average molecular weight of over 500,000, characterized by a low coefficient of friction, excellent wear resistance, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance. However, many grades have high melt viscosity, making injection molding and extrusion difficult. DREYLUB is a special compound of UHMW-PE that can be used for injection molding and extrusion. With advanced compounding technology and formulation know-how, we offer customized materials that meet our customers' needs. DREYFOL is a melt-extruded film made from UHMW-PE. Typical UHMW-PE films are generally porous because the high melt viscosity of the resin requires the creation of a cylinder through compression molding, which is then machined into a film. In contrast, DREYFOL has achieved film production through melt extrusion. The film produced by melt extrusion is not porous, resulting in superior durability and mechanical properties compared to porous films.

Free membership registrationLUVOBATCH is a chemical foaming agent masterbatch developed and manufactured by the German LEHVOSS Group. The LEHVOSS Group is a global supplier of high-performance resin raw materials, additives, and compounds. This foaming agent masterbatch allows for the foaming of plastic parts simply by adding it during the molding process. A significant advantage is that it does not require the introduction of new dedicated equipment or maintenance, as it can be foamed directly with existing molding equipment. Chemical foaming agents are generally classified into endothermic and exothermic systems, each following different foaming reactions and exhibiting different properties. Endothermic systems use organic materials such as carbonates, mixed carbonates, and citrates, which are characterized by easy control of the foaming process, high safety, and the ability to achieve fine foaming. On the other hand, exothermic systems use inorganic materials such as ADCA (azodicarbonamide), OBSH (oxybisbenzenesulfonylhydrazide), and TSH (toluene sulfonyl hydrazide), which are characterized by a high foaming ratio. At LUVOBATCH, we propose the appropriate type of foaming agent according to the specific project requirements.

Free membership registrationAdditives are an important element for enhancing the performance of resin products. They are used to impart functions to various extruded and injection-molded products, as well as to improve durability. To properly express the effects of additives, accurate control of the amount added and sufficient dispersion within the resin are essential. Additives come in various forms, such as liquids, pastes, and powders, and handling these and accurately weighing them requires effort and can lead to mistakes. LUVOBATCH functional masterbatches are provided with such additives pre-dispersed in a carrier resin, making them easy to handle and allowing for easy control of the amount added. We can also offer customized products that combine not only individual functions such as UV stabilizers, thermal stabilizers, lubricants, processing aids, and desiccants, but also combinations of these functions.

Free membership registrationThis is the world's first technology to biodegrade polyethylene and polypropylene in the natural environment. By simply adding 2% of a masterbatch to PE or PP, the entire resin biodegrades without leaving microplastics, thanks to our unique biotransformation technology. Since only 2% of the masterbatch is added, the original physical properties of PE and PP are almost maintained. Products molded with lyfecycle begin to decompose after the expected usage period and ultimately completely break down into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass. A significant feature is that it biodegrades without leaving microplastics. (Verified by a third-party organization based on BSI (British Standards Institution) [PAS 9017]) Lyfecycle has been confirmed to comply with the Food Sanitation Act positive list, FDA GRAS, and EU 10/2011.

Free membership registrationSilica reacts with OH groups in the air or in substances to produce a glass-like thin film at nearly room temperature and atmospheric pressure. This technology is environmentally friendly as it does not contain harmful substances to living organisms, does not use petroleum-based resins, and returns to silicon in the natural environment. It is gaining attention as an alternative technology to fluororesin coatings, which have characteristics such as water repellency. Unlike the principles of "water glass" or "liquid glass" technologies represented by colloidal silica, this method is entirely different and, unlike membrane layer technologies that coat the surface of substrates, it also exhibits effects in three-dimensional directions. When applied to paper or wood, it penetrates the material and glassifies each fiber, thereby demonstrating effects in three-dimensional directions. It allows for a finish that is soft and preserves the texture of the substrate rather than a hard coating. Additionally, since the generated SiO2 film is safe and neutral, it is possible to impart various functions to the substrate through chemical bonding. Various functionalities such as water resistance, water repellency, oil resistance, durability, insulation, rigidity, heat resistance, flame retardance, termite resistance, antibacterial properties, UV resistance, radiation shielding, rust prevention, and weight reduction have been confirmed.

Free membership registration"CeramNex" is an alumina filler formed and controlled into distinctive shapes using DIC's unique inorganic oxide synthesis technology. It offers products in unique shapes such as plate-like and polyhedral forms. These alumina fillers possess high crystallinity, and by selecting shapes suitable for specific applications and adding them to the matrix, improvements in thermal conductivity, rigidity, and wear resistance can be expected. For example, polyhedral alumina is effective in enhancing thermal conductivity. Its 14-faced shape allows the fillers to contact each other on surfaces, making heat transfer more efficient than with spherical shapes that contact at points. This results in a heat dissipation improvement of up to 1.3 times. On the other hand, plate-like alumina features "high crystallinity" and a high aspect ratio, which is its most significant characteristic. Utilizing this feature, interesting effects on wear resistance have also been observed. When conventional alumina is added to resins or coatings, there is a significant issue of damage to the counterpart material. However, CeramNex in a plate-like shape has a smooth surface, greatly reducing damage to the counterpart material. (Replacing spherical alumina reduces wear on the counterpart material by 60%)

Free membership registration**Chopped Carbon Fiber** Chopped carbon fiber refers to products made by cutting carbon fibers into short lengths (3-6mm). Based on advanced cutting technology and expertise in sizing material selection, it is used by customers around the world. It is mainly added to improve the strength and elastic modulus of thermoplastic resin compounds or to enhance conductivity. We propose sizing materials that are compatible with the base resin, and by selecting the appropriate sizing, improvements in the mechanical properties of the compound after processing can be expected. **Milled Carbon Fiber** Milled carbon fiber refers to products that have been finely ground from carbon fibers. The average fiber length is about 100μm, making it very short. It is often used for improving sliding properties and enhancing conductivity. In recent years, it has also gained attention as a reinforcing filler for 3D printing. **Carbon Fiber Felt and Paper** Carbon fiber felt is a non-woven fabric that orients carbon fibers in three dimensions. Carbon fiber paper is a sheet that arranges carbon fibers in two dimensions. It is composed of carbon fibers and a small amount of binder resin. We can also customize products by mixing the resin with fibers according to your requirements.

Free membership registrationBy adding a special biodegradable modifier to polyethylene, biodegradation begins after a certain period, breaking down into water, carbon dioxide, and biomass in the natural environment. It has been verified by a third-party organization that no microplastics remain after biodegradation. The performance as a stretch film is almost on par with conventional polyethylene, and usability is similar as well. A significant advantage is that it can be recycled before the degradation process begins.

Free membership registrationThe EXCELENE water-soluble laundry bag is made from a water-soluble and biodegradable film primarily composed of PVA (polyvinyl alcohol). Leveraging its water-soluble characteristic, it is used as a laundry bag in hotels, public facilities, factories, medical facilities, nursing homes, and more. Used linens can be placed directly into this laundry bag, which can then be put into the washing machine as is, allowing for safe washing without direct contact with dirty linens. The main body of the hot water dissolvable laundry bag dissolves in water at 65°C, while the tape used to tie the bag's opening dissolves in water at 25°C. It is designed to dissolve properly during hot water washing (above 80°C for more than 10 minutes). The tape portion dissolves in room temperature water (25°C), allowing the bag's opening to come undone during pre-washing for more efficient laundry. The cold water dissolvable type dissolves both the body and the tape in water at 10-15°C, making it usable in facilities without hot water washing machines.

Free membership registrationEverGlide is a pelletized masterbatch material that is highly filled with ultra-high molecular weight silicone (ultra-high molecular weight polysiloxane) in a thermoplastic resin. By adding this masterbatch to thermoplastic resins, improvements in wear resistance and sliding properties can be expected. Ultra-high molecular weight silicone is more durable than conventional silicone and excels in wear resistance under harsh conditions. It features high-purity ultra-high molecular weight silicone that is uniformly dispersed and does not bleed out. Since it uses a different technology from PTFE, it can be used as a sliding material that complies with PFAS regulations and is free of fluororesins. It is widely applicable from super engineering plastics like PEEK and PPS to engineering plastics like PA and POM, as well as general-purpose plastics like PP and PE. Synergistic effects can also be expected when blended simultaneously with other sliding fillers such as PTFE, carbon fibers, molybdenum disulfide, and graphite.

Free membership registrationBy adding to various engineering plastics such as PC, ABS, PC/ABS, PBT, m-PPE, PA, and HIPS, it helps impart flame retardancy. ITAflon PTFE becomes fibrous when subjected to shear forces during the melting, mixing, and molding processes of engineering plastics. The fiberization forms a network structure within the resin, which improves the melt tension of the resin. This mechanism allows it to function as an anti-dripping agent and contributes to the flame retardancy of resin materials.
