The OFGS® (OFF GRID SWITCH BOX) series from Tsuruta Electric is a transformer and control/protection integrated switching panel/transmission system developed to maximize the use of solar storage batteries during both normal and power outage conditions. The OFGS®-H series is a constant power supply system designed for hybrid storage battery systems. During power outages and restorations, it allows for seamless power supply and autonomous operation without the need for manual intervention, thanks to the automatic switching mechanism of the dedicated transformer. This system fully utilizes the capabilities of hybrid PCS without the need to switch between grid (GRID) and off-grid (Off GRID), enabling the realization of corporate renewable energy initiatives such as BCP measures, phase-free operations, and RE100, while addressing installation conditions related to grid connection. It facilitates the construction of a storage battery system that provides clean energy through natural energy (solar power) and off-grid (independent of the power grid) supply, regardless of normal or emergency situations. ■ Capable of manufacturing up to a maximum rated current class of 3000A. We propose optimal designs for the core (silicon steel sheets, Super E, amorphous, Finemet, powdered iron cores, ferrite) and coils tailored to the frequency range, including copper strips, litz wire, and single wire. (1) Considering the structure in terms of IP (Ingress Protection) ratings, we can also provide products that are resistant to harsh environments. (2) Compliance with international standards (IEC/EN/UL, etc.) is available. (3) Direct current superimposition characteristics will be measured. (4) Vibration testing evaluations will be conducted. (5) Slim design is possible. ■ Direct Current Superimposition Characteristics: When a direct current bias flows through an inductor, the permeability decreases as it approaches the saturation point of the magnetic material, resulting in a decrease in inductance value. This characteristic is referred to as direct current superimposition characteristics. The issue with this direct current superimposition current arises when a core with a higher permeability than air is used to achieve a small size with a large inductance. Since cores like iron have a permeability that is significantly greater than that of air, it is possible to achieve a small size with a large inductance.

No-load loss (standby power) refers to the losses that occur continuously while in a receiving state. Since transformers are used for long periods, minimizing no-load loss (standby power) can lead to significant energy savings. If the protection device on the primary side is the same as the rated current, the likelihood of malfunction becomes very high, so it is necessary to either adopt a product designed to suppress inrush current or increase the rated interrupting current value of the protection device.
