The 'SPI® Series', which incorporates SPI® transformers (DC current leakage prevention transformers), is designed for connecting to low-voltage distribution lines in industrial solar power generation systems aimed at selling all generated power. By implementing DC current prevention functions, it enables clean power supply (202V) to the grid. Additionally, the S series (amorphous) transformers, which reduce standby power at night, are also available, allowing you to choose according to your needs. If a failure in the reverse conversion device (power conditioner, inverter) causes DC components to superimpose on the AC current flowing into the grid, the pole-mounted transformer will become DC magnetized, adversely affecting the voltage for consumers other than those with distortion-dispersed power facilities.

【Lineup】Available in 9 types of installation options. ■Type Z Series (Electromagnetic Steel Plate Insulation Transformer): Type A to I ■Type S Series (Amorphous Insulation Transformer): Type A to I ◇SPIⓇ Transformer is equipped with lightning surge cut function, reducing surge waveforms of AC 10kV by -40 to -50dB (approximately 1/100 to 1/316 = 100 to 31.6V), thereby attenuating lightning surges from the system side and protecting the power converter (PCS). ◇The S Series (Amorphous Core Insulation Transformer) achieves significant energy-saving effects while suppressing no-load loss (standby power). In solar power generation systems under the FIT purchase system, it is essential to prevent the direct current generated by the panels from flowing into the power lines and to protect the system from lightning surges coming from the power lines. Additionally, to increase profit from selling electricity, measures against overloading (panel generation capacity exceeding PCS capacity) are necessary. Although excess power from overloading is wasted, there is a significant advantage in being able to provide stable power supply with SPI transformers, which efficiently generate power even with limited sunlight, despite having many panels installed.

◇Lightning-Prone Area◇ The SPI® transformer (SPI-transformer / insulated transformer) is a transformer developed based on the principle of preventing lightning surges through high-frequency insulation effects and high voltage resistance, allowing surges to be discharged to the ground. When a surge enters electronic equipment, it progresses towards the ground while destroying areas with low insulation or withstand voltage until its energy is exhausted. If a signal ground is established in the electronic equipment, it effectively creates a surge destruction pathway, which is very dangerous. In cases where the electronic equipment is ungrounded and the surge is electromagnetically induced, it can lead to the generation of very high voltage at the insulation part, similar to an open secondary side of a CT circuit on the current meter side, resulting in destruction due to spark discharge. In this case, the path of the surge's progression is unpredictable. The SPI transformer is designed to prevent lightning surges that have invaded the system side from transitioning to the power converter side. ◇Concern about Salt Damage: Coastal Areas ◇ When installed in coastal areas, measures against salt damage are necessary. The SPI transformer exhibits excellent corrosion resistance due to treatment for salt-resistant and heavy salt-resistant specifications, effectively preventing equipment failure and reducing recurring maintenance costs.

Full-scale power sales SPI® Series: Insulation transformer with breaker box (Breaker thermal malfunction prevention model) Solar power plants sell electricity to the grid, so in the event of a wiring short circuit accident, there is a risk of causing a worst-case scenario short circuit on the grid side, leading to widespread power outages. The SPI® transformer can be equipped with a breaker box that includes a breaker and leakage circuit breaker to prevent this from happening. The breaker box itself can be locked, and a padlock can also be installed. Additionally, it is designed with an IP44 equivalent waterproof protection structure that is not adversely affected by water spray from any direction.
