Our company conducts differentiation of lubricants using photoionization (PI) method. Differentiation of lubricants that cannot be identified from the main component base oil can be examined from the additive components. It is possible to analyze the lubricants directly without the complicated pre-treatment operations required to extract additives. We would like to introduce our "Identification Test of White Powders using X-ray Diffraction (XRD)." When an unknown substance is encountered, elemental analysis is typically conducted; however, elemental analysis alone cannot identify the substance. The XRD method is a technique that can identify substances and also determine different crystal polymorphs represented by the same chemical formula. By identifying the substance, information about the source material and factors of generation can be obtained, as well as information regarding countermeasures and recurrence prevention measures. We will introduce the quantitative analysis of sulfur in rubber using the "Flask Combustion-ICP Method." A predetermined amount of absorbent solution is placed in the flask, which is then filled with oxygen. Our company measures trihalomethanes in drinking water using headspace gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-GC/MS). We conduct quantitative analysis of trihalomethanes contained in water products and environmental samples. Trihalomethanes are a general term for organic halogenated compounds that are derivatives of methane, and the water quality standards for drinking water target four types, including chloroform.
