The painting drying furnace operates in a high-temperature environment of 150 to 180°C to cure the electrocoated paint on the vehicle body. This causes the oil for the conveyor chain inside the furnace to evaporate, leading to increased wear due to reduced lubrication, which shortens the chain's lifespan and increases the frequency of replacements, resulting in significant maintenance costs. We would like to introduce a case study where they adopted the coolant "Master Cool" for machining difficult-to-cut materials. In end mill machining of heat-resistant difficult-to-cut material SUS430, the tool life was shorter compared to machining other materials, leading to the use of coolant at a high concentration. This not only increased the amount of coolant needed but also worsened the workplace environment due to increased stickiness in the machining area. To address the challenges of machining difficult-to-cut materials that require higher processing technology, they adopted a coolant specifically designed for such materials. After adoption, they successfully reduced the coolant supply amount and improved the working environment. Since its start as a vehicle production factory in 1991, Company C in Fukuoka Prefecture has contributed to the continuous development of manufacturing in Kyushu. We would like to introduce a case where they adopted the energy-saving multifunctional oil "Bashital Force." They were considering further reductions in CO2 emissions and had been soliciting improvement themes internally, but progress was not as expected. As one of the energy-saving measures in the press process, which has high emissions, they adopted the energy-saving multifunctional oil. After adoption, they succeeded in energy savings with the press machine, achieving reductions not only in CO2 but also in electricity costs.
