In recent years, OPC (Optical Particle Counter) is expanding its use beyond clean rooms (CR), that is, into new settings such as work environments, indoor environments, and atmospheric environments. This document considers new applications of OPC that are not limited to tools for monitoring CR cleanliness. We have reprinted an article published in the Clean Technology magazine. Until now, particle counters were thought to only be capable of suction sampling under atmospheric pressure due to the structure of the sensors, and were unable to measure particles in compressed air or gas. On the other hand, with the institutionalization of HACCP and the transition to ISO 22000 (June 2021), it has become necessary to manage dust, bacteria, water, and oil for gases that come into direct or indirect contact with food. Additionally, there is a significant demand for cleanliness monitoring in pneumatic systems such as ProAir. The "5000-LF Series (Old Model)" is a particle counter designed for ultra-high concentration applications. *Model numbers have been changed: 5301-LF → 5300, 5501LF → 5500 (non-pump type); 5301P-LF → 5300P, 5501P-LF → 5500P (pump type). It can be installed on walls or columns, used on a tabletop, operated directly from the unit, or remotely monitored and controlled from a computer. The particle size classification is 6 channels, user-configurable. Regardless of what anyone says, it supports ultra-high concentrations (2,500 particles/cc). It is possible to prepare up to 3 calibrated spare sensors. The model has been changed: 7301-LF to 7300, and 7501 to 7500. The 7300/75000 is a particle counter that can be set up on-site on a table or camera stand, allowing for standalone operation of the main unit, remote operation from a computer, and multi-point monitoring. It is a cleanroom-compatible particle counter that also supports ultra-high concentration particle measurement. It simultaneously measures temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, and can convert from particle number concentration to mass concentration. The real-time meter can graph the trend of detected particle counts every second directly on the main unit's display. The pump is a newly developed dedicated pump that achieves long life and quiet operation. Additionally, due to its high concentration capability, the sensor may become dirty. The "5300/5500・5300P/5500P" is a particle counter that can be installed on walls or columns, used on a tabletop, operated directly from the unit, or remotely controlled from a computer. The particle size classification consists of 6 channels (user-configurable). The measurement values are displayed as the total count of particles above the set particle size or as the count between particle sizes. In real-time meter mode, the particle counter directly graphs the transition of counts every second on the screen.
