SABIC has announced the high-purity "SD1100P BPADA powder" for polyimide (PI) films used in 5G flexible printed circuit boards (FPC), transparent displays, and other flexible electronics. This product is a powdered form of 4,4'-bisphenol A type acid anhydride (BPADA) and is used in the production of high molecular weight PI that balances thermal and mechanical properties. Compared to other anhydrides available on the market, SABIC's SD1100P BPADA powder can improve various performance metrics in the manufacturing of flexible copper-clad laminates, coverlays, and films and varnishes used in adhesives, such as reducing dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent, lowering water absorption, and enhancing adhesion to metals.
