Additionally, through its unique packaging technology, it realizes a low primary conductor resistance of "0.27mΩ" and high insulation with a creepage/clearance distance of ≧8mm. This significantly reduces heat generation during current application compared to shunt resistors, and eliminates the need for a primary side power supply or amplifier for insulation, allowing overcurrent detection with just the IC. The passivation MBE (Molecular Beam Epitaxy) system consists of various chambers specially designed for surface passivation or laser facet passivation. It is possible to use various coatings to protect the surfaces and facet surfaces, with typical materials including ZnSe, SiN, and oxides.
