MySkin Product Lineup

The "MySkin Kit," developed through joint research between the University of Tokyo and our company, is a kit that allows for easy bacterial sampling. Typically, bacteria need to be collected using swabs, but the "MySkin Kit" can collect samples simply by applying a sticker to the skin. Additionally, it does not require large testing venues, allowing tests to be conducted at home, which reduces costs and effort! Samples can be collected not only from the skin but also from any surface where tape can be applied, such as doorknobs, and we also accept analysis via swabs. After you send us the samples you collected from your own skin microbiome, including the face, we will extract the microbial genomic DNA and perform large-scale sequencing analysis using our in-house next-generation sequencer (MiSeq from Illumina). From the obtained sequences, we will conduct homology searches and phylogenetic classification analyses. If sequences with high homology to those in the database are found, we can identify the microbiome down to the species level. Three types of metagenomic analyses can be performed from the DNA extracted from one kit. We will undertake analyses tailored to your requests.

Not only does it excel in the preservation of bacteria, but because the area of the seal is constant, it allows for monitoring variations in the relative number of bacteria. For example, it can also be used as a reference value for comparative studies before and after the application of the formulation.

We offer a whole genome analysis service focused on microorganisms that is useful for various research, including genetic analysis and comparative genome analysis after bacterial screening, as well as pangenome analysis. We perform library preparation from genomic DNA and conduct sequencing of the entire genome of the microorganisms.
