Yamato Seiko Co., Ltd. Introduces Wire Cut Electrical Discharge Machining To broaden our machining technology capabilities, we have introduced a wire cut electrical discharge machining system. Leveraging the strengths of wire cut electrical discharge machining, we will also cater to the processing of difficult-to-cut materials and precision shape machining in the aerospace and medical fields. We are also considering responses to prototype and small-lot production orders.

〇Development Background In-house welding robots experienced a decrease in welding quality due to spatter adhering to the nozzle area. Each time this occurred, the automatic operation was halted, and an operator had to remove the spatter. This led to the development of a cleaning machine that could perform spatter removal, apply anti-adhesion agents, and include a wire cutting function. The idea was to program this into the automatic operation process of the welding robot. 〇Components Thin sheet metal (iron, stainless steel), machined parts (iron), brushes, electrical components, etc. 〇Basic Performance The machine cleans spatter adhered to the welding nozzle without manual intervention. - Overview Continuous automatic operation of welding robots for extended periods is now possible, improving productivity, quality, and safety. - Features and Examples ● With the eccentric spring-type rotating drill function: 1. Simultaneously cleans the inner surface of the nozzle and the outer surface of the tip. 2. Applies force not only sideways but also downward, effectively scraping off spatter. ● With the powerful suction device: 1. Sucks away spatter deep inside the nozzle. At the same time, it atomizes the anti-adhesion liquid applied to the torch tip, evenly coating even the deepest parts of the torch. 2. Provides a cooling effect of 40 to 50 degrees on the nozzle during cleaning. 3. Reduces the amount of anti-spatter liquid (to one-fifth of the conventional amount) and prevents liquid dripping.

Overview Engine Motoring Testing ■ We have a motoring bench for engine assembly and conduct durability tests, investigations, functionality confirmations, and report submissions in-house. ■ We possess durability testing equipment for engine heads and will consider durability tests not only for the heads but also for the rotating components. Static Strength and Fatigue Strength Testing ■ We own a Shimadzu servo pulser and, based on the testing plan, we carry out jig design and manufacturing, testing, investigations, and report submissions in-house. ■ Regarding fatigue testing, we apply specialized knowledge gained from the development of moving parts to conduct accurate evaluations and analyses. ■ We can also accommodate preliminary verifications using 3D scanners and printers.
