To promote regional revitalization, it is essential to maximize the outcomes and social effects of exchange projects that facilitate human interaction between urban and rural areas, in addition to the community regeneration efforts that local governments and residents have been pursuing, such as green tourism, private lodging, rural study programs, migration and settlement, and the discovery and promotion of tourism resources. Through lectures and workshops, I have been planning and supporting town development as a "concrete initiative" that utilizes the uniqueness and characteristics of the region while engaging in direct conversations. While the situation of population decline is urgent, based on past activities, I consider it a first step to visit the local area and confront the "reality" of the region. I am engaged in planning regional revitalization that leverages the town's uniqueness and resources. Keeping in mind the effective use of resources such as "human resources," "networking capabilities," and "information and communication technology," which are strengths of the university, I hope to produce the revitalization and exchange of towns while linking university education with town development.

Free membership registrationAmid the issue of educational disparities depending on the region, I thought that using remote education technology could potentially resolve this problem, which became the impetus for my research. There is a problem where the quality of teachers can either increase or decrease learners' motivation, but I believe that if remote education can enhance learners' motivation towards their studies, it could solve this issue. While there are numerous studies on methods to enhance learners' motivation in face-to-face classes, there is currently a lack of research on methods to improve motivation in remote education, even on a global scale (research on learners during the forced implementation of remote education under COVID-19 is gradually emerging).

Free membership registrationI have been involved in work related to consultation and support for people with disabilities for a long time, primarily in the fields of welfare and education. During this time, I experienced a shift from the medical model, which focuses on improving the disability itself for better social adaptation, to the social model, which aims to improve the social environment to make it more accessible for people with disabilities. This sparked my interest in the idea that everyone, regardless of age or condition, can live together in society, leading me to this research. If there is anything unique about my perspective, it may be that I approach issues from the four domains of "psychology," "welfare," "education," and "society." Additionally, I strive to understand and incorporate the concept of "community" in this context.

Free membership registrationIn our society, there are already people with diverse backgrounds, including differences in gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, and the presence or absence of disabilities. Since the Great East Japan Earthquake, issues related to gender and diversity have gained attention. During disasters, the challenges present in society become more pronounced. It is known that in the Great East Japan Earthquake, the number of deaths in Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima Prefectures was about 1,000 more for women than for men. Additionally, the mortality rate for people with disabilities was more than twice as high in some regions compared to the general population. The disparities related to gender and the issues of a society centered around able-bodied individuals are among the significant social challenges faced by our current society. I have been exploring solutions to these issues, focusing on the challenges faced by non-regularly employed women, who are often economically vulnerable, particularly those working in the public sector, as well as the intersectional discrimination faced by women with disabilities. My research theme is to understand the issues related to gender and diversity present in everyday life and to envision a more just, diverse, and sustainable society.
