New Tool for Perovskite Solar Cell Development: GaAs-Equipped Reference Cell

Calibration of reference solar cells using the solar simulator method. Reference cells with GaAs that have similar spectral sensitivity characteristics and high stability.

GaAs-type (III-V compound semiconductor) cells have spectral sensitivity characteristics that are much more similar to perovskite-type cells compared to conventional Si-type cells, and they also excel in stability. GaAs-type cells show significantly better spectral mismatch when compared to measurements using the combination of the commonly used "Si-type cell" and the colored glass filter KG-5 as a reference for perovskite-type cells. ReRa Solutions in the Netherlands is one of the few companies manufacturing high-quality GaAs-type reference solar cells, and we have established a system to provide stable supply and technical support within Japan, leveraging our know-how in the manufacturing and sales of our own reference solar cells. Our reference solar cells also comply with the standards of the WPVS (World Photovoltaic Scale) and the requirements of IEC 904-2. Additionally, cell calibration is conducted at the Radboud University Nijmegen PV Measurement Facility and is traceable to the NREL in the United States.

Thermocouple compensation wire (Duplex type)

Insulated thermocouple wire (Teflon, glass, ceramic, enamel)

We offer single wire (single type) and double insulated wire (duplex type).

In a thermocouple, the point where different metals are in contact (the junction) becomes the measurement point. When using uncoated thermocouple wires, it is necessary to devise a way to ensure that each wire does not touch anywhere other than at the measurement point. To alleviate this inconvenience, thermocouple wires that are coated with materials such as Teflon are referred to as insulated thermocouple wires. ■ Insulated single wire for thermocouples (single type) This is a thermocouple wire that has been coated with insulation. It provides ease of handling for thin thermocouple wires and also serves to protect the wire metal, which is susceptible to chemical reactions. Materials available include Formvar (enamel), Teflon (PFA), and Ceramo (ceramic). ■ Double insulated thermocouple wire (duplex type) This consists of two single type insulated thermocouple wires, one for the positive side and one for the negative side, arranged in parallel and further coated to create a two-layer structure, also known as parallel wire. This type is even easier to handle than the single type, and the overall strength of the thermocouple is improved. The junctions are also easier to manufacture.
