The "picoTAS" is a picosecond transient absorption spectroscopy system that can observe the light absorption signals of intermediates over a wide range of both time and wavelength. It completely covers the gap time range (1 ns to 20 ns) and can seamlessly measure a broad wavelength range from visible to near-infrared. Additionally, it allows for measurements over a wide time domain of more than six digits, from 100 picoseconds to milliseconds, enabling the observation of the entire process from the generation to the disappearance of various intermediates. 【Features】 ■ Completely covers the gap time range (1 ns to 20 ns) ■ Transient absorption measurements from 100 picoseconds to milliseconds ■ Wide measurement wavelength range from visible to near-infrared ■ Removes luminescence signals to measure pure transient absorption ■ Pump light and probe light are asynchronous *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Free membership registrationpicoTAS enables transient absorption measurements in the time range of 100 ps to ms, including "blank time periods" from 1 nanosecond to 20 nanoseconds, which were difficult to measure with conventional methods, using the new technology RIPT (Randomly Interleaved Pulse Train Method). Furthermore, because it can subtract the effects of luminescence, it allows for the observation of transient absorption signals in reaction systems that were previously unobservable, regardless of whether the samples are luminescent or non-luminescent. picoTAS opens up new avenues for photochemical research from fundamental studies to applications.

Free membership registrationThe flash photolysis method is a technique that captures the "instant" state of a target substance using the absorption and emission of light as a probe. While many studies have been conducted in the ultraviolet to visible light wavelength range as probes, the usefulness of the near-infrared region has been increasingly recognized in recent years. On the other hand, the time resolution of the measurement system is determined by the time width of the pulse excitation source that induces a reaction in the substance and the time resolution of the detector.

Free membership registrationThe stopped-flow method is a technique that rapidly mixes a sample solution and instantly stops the flow, allowing for the high-speed measurement of changes in the absorption spectra and fluorescence of the sample solution in the visible, ultraviolet, and near-infrared regions. It can measure the reaction rates of various fast reactions on the order of milliseconds to seconds, such as homogeneous catalyst reactions, enzyme reactions, redox reactions, structure formation, and particle generation, as well as detect short-lived intermediates. This enables the evaluation of reaction activity, derivation of activation energy, analysis of reaction mechanisms, assessment of inhibitors and promoters, and comparison of the properties of related substances and new materials.

Free membership registration!! No troublesome needle processing required *2, stable STM measurements possible!! It has been confirmed that atomic images can be obtained stably without the need for high-temperature heating treatment during HOPG observation in the atmosphere and gold observation in ultra-high vacuum. *2: Limited to nickel and platinum-iridium probes. However, if the observation surface is active, heating for degassing is recommended. - STM probes do not tolerate carbon deposition associated with SEM observation, so only extraction SEM inspection will be performed.

Free membership registration!! The tip shape is advantageous for multi-probe use with a small inclination angle!! The probe shape has a small inclination angle that takes into account the possibility of adjacent probes not making contact when they approach each other at sharp angles. !! Soft contact with the sample is possible *1 !! The PtIr-coated tungsten probes and platinum-iridium probes, which have surfaces made of platinum-iridium, allow for quick conductivity upon contact due to the absence of an oxide film on the surface. This minimizes damage to both the sample and the probes. Additionally, nickel probes can also achieve quick conductivity upon contact with low contact resistance, similar to platinum-iridium probes. *1: Excluding tungsten probe P-100WP
