Case Study on Red Rust Removal Effect of Cooling Water (Chiller Water) [Magnetic Water Treatment Device Vol. 1]

Conducting a test to confirm the effectiveness of rust removal! After the test, we will introduce cases where the rust was beautifully removed.

We would like to introduce the test we conducted to confirm the effectiveness of Polar in removing red rust. The water tank used was made from a drum that had been utilized during fire training, and it was quite rusty both inside and out. The purpose of the test was to observe how the rust on the inside and bottom, which came into contact with Polar water, would change. During the test, the rust inside the tank (drum) caused the water to become red and murky, making the bottom invisible. However, after the test, the rust on the inner walls and bottom that had been in contact with Polar water was completely removed. It is worth noting that the upper 10 cm section of the inner wall, which did not come into contact with Polar water, remained unchanged from before the test. [Test Overview] ■ Duration: February 23, 1989 - March 16, 1989 ■ Location: Underground boiler room of a certain automobile dealer's headquarters in Nagano City ■ Purpose - To remove the red rust (Fe203) generated inside the sample pipe by Polar, and to see if it can be reduced to black rust (Fe304). *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Cooling water (chiller water) molding machine mold case study [Magnetic water treatment device Vol. 2]

Cooling water volume increased by 16%! Red rust has been completely removed and changed to black rust.

In the cooling passages of plastic molds, tests were conducted with the aim of removing blockages caused by rust and scale using a polarizer, thereby restoring cooling effectiveness. Additionally, we confirmed whether red rust in the cooling passages could be removed and reduced to black rust (magnetite) to form a corrosion-resistant coating. As a result, when the rust that had leached into the water tank was collected and a magnet was applied, the rust was attracted to the magnet, indicating that it had transformed into magnetite. [Test Details] ■ Purpose - To remove blockages caused by rust and scale in the cooling passages of plastic molds using a polarizer, thereby restoring cooling effectiveness (increasing cooling water flow rate). - To confirm whether red rust in the cooling passages can be removed and reduced to black rust to form a corrosion-resistant coating. ■ Location: SK Corporation Headquarters (Gifu Prefecture) ■ Duration: January 21, 1992 – May 30, 1992 (24-hour continuous bench test operation) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Examples of Softening and Dissolution of Cooling Water System Scale [Magnetic Water Treatment Device Vol. 3]

Comparison before and after use (2.5 months)! The softening and dissolution of the scale was confirmed.

Water treated with magnetic processing using a polarizer causes softening and dissolution of scale. A polarizer model "PI-15(15A)" was installed in the test apparatus to investigate the softening and dissolution outflow of scale in the test pipe. Comparing before the use of the polarizer and 2.5 months after its use, it was found that softening and dissolution of the scale occurred. It is considered that it may take a considerable amount of time to remove scale solely with the polarizer, so while the primary purpose is to prevent scale adhesion, it is believed that it does not have the rapid effectiveness of chemical cleaning for removing adhered scale, but it can prevent scale buildup inside the pipes. [Test Overview] ■ Provider: Environmental Frontier Co., Ltd. (Shizuoka City) ■ Test Period: June 1, 1984, to August 15, 1984 (approximately 2.5 months) ■ Purpose: Does water treated with magnetic processing using a polarizer cause softening and dissolution of scale? ■ Method: A polarizer model "PI-15(15A)" was installed in the test apparatus to investigate the softening and dissolution outflow of scale in the test pipe. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Scale prevention measures for turbo refrigeration units used in air conditioning [Magnetic water treatment device Vol. 4]

A demonstration experiment aimed at comparing the effects of polar magnetic water treatment devices and chemical treatment.

Among the numerous manufacturers selling magnetic water treatment devices, there was a strong demand from major general contractors to confirm the effectiveness compared to the conventional chemical treatment methods. With the cooperation of subcontractors, comparative tests were conducted. For the university hospital, an anti-legionella slime control agent was applied weekly at a rate of 500cc using a manual sprinkling method, completely avoiding the use of conventional chemical injection devices. This was carried out primarily during the extremely hot summer months. As a result, the effectiveness of the Polar magnetic water treatment device, which has a powerful magnetic force of over 6000 gauss, was confirmed and evaluated. [Case Study] ■ Purpose and Application - Prevention of scale adhesion, corrosion, and slime suppression for a 150RT turbo refrigeration unit. ■ Installation Location: A certain university hospital in Saitama Prefecture. ■ Start Date of Test Operation: April 1, 1998 (installed by a major subcontractor). ■ Polar Model: PI-65F (set including Polar main unit, magnetic strainer, and flow meter). ■ Installation Method: Installed with a bypass method for more than 15% of the circulating water volume of 1950L/min. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Scale Prevention for Absorption Chiller-Heating Water Generators [Magnetic Water Treatment Device Vol. 5]

Due to the slime suppression effect, there is no slime at all! The prevention of scale adhesion and the anti-corrosion effect have been significantly demonstrated.

We conducted an effectiveness confirmation for approximately 1 year and 3 months using only the Polar magnetic water treatment device on Sanyo's "400USRT" chilled and hot water generator. The upper water tank of the box-type cooling tower is covered with a lid to block sunlight, which is effective in preventing the growth of water algae. Due to Polar's slime suppression effect, there was no slime at all, and the prevention of scale adhesion and corrosion effects were significantly pronounced, receiving positive evaluations from both users and manufacturers. Additionally, the LTD (temperature difference) as an evaluation of heat exchange rate was also normal and favorable. 【Case Study】 ■ Application: Scale, corrosion, and slime countermeasures for the 400USRT absorption chilled and hot water generator ■ Installation Location: Ote Electronics and Optics Manufacturer (Company N), Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture ■ Installation Date: End of July 2003 (installed by a major subcontractor) ■ Polar Model: PI-65F (Set of Polar main unit, magnetic strainer, and flow meter) ■ Installation Method: Installed using a pump draw method for 10% of the cooling circulation water volume *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Case Study on Scale Prevention in Closed Cooling Towers [Magnetic Water Treatment Device Vol. 6]

We will introduce a case where we successfully confirmed the absence of scale attachment and saved on water costs!

On October 24, 2000, a polar type "PI-25CF" was installed on the spray pipe of the cooling tower using a partial bypass method, and automatic blow management was conducted without chemicals at the conventional electrical conductivity of 60 ms/m. On November 22, 2000, one month after using the polar system, a check was conducted for scale deposition in the heat exchange section of the cooling tower, and no scale was found, confirming the effectiveness of the polar system. At 3.5 months of using the polar system, an extreme experiment was conducted by further concentrating the electrical conductivity to 120 ms/m to save on water supply, and it was confirmed that there was no scale deposition, successfully reducing water costs. [Challenges and Measures] ■ The supply water (well water) had a pH of 6.7, electrical conductivity of 30 ms/m, silica 56 mg/L, M-alkalinity 76 mg/L, and calcium 31 mg/L, making water quality management very challenging. ■ Installation of model "PI-25CF" - A three-point set including a magnetic strainer, polar main unit, and flow meter. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Cooling water (Plate heat exchanger for cogeneration) [Magnetic water treatment device Vol. 7]

We present a case where over 95% of the adhesion was removed, and cleaning was completed with a simple jet wash!

The cooling water for the diesel engine used for self-generation is cooled by a rooftop cooling tower through a plate-type heat exchanger. Every year, this plate-type heat exchanger would accumulate severe scale and dirt, requiring cleaning through acid washing. In comparison after the installation of the Polar system, over 95% of the buildup was eliminated, and cleaning was completed with a simple jet wash. Both the client and the management were very satisfied with the effectiveness of the Polar system. [Case Study] ■ Client: Major Supermarket (Hiroshima Prefecture) ■ Purpose: Scale prevention for self-generation plate-type heat exchanger ■ Installation: Polar model "PI-40F (3-point set)" installed in an independent circulation system for the cooling tower *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Cooling water (oil cooler heat exchanger) [Magnetic water treatment device Vol. 8]

The scale and water algae on the surface of the copper pipe have fallen off, improving thermal efficiency!

We would like to introduce a case of water quality purification and algae removal for cooling water of molding machines (for oil coolers). One month after the installation of the polarizer, the water treated with a powerful magnetic field of over 6000 Gauss showed that the colloidal components' zeta potential (interfacial potential) in the water decreased, causing suspended solids (S.S) in the water to aggregate and precipitate, resulting in clarity. Additionally, the scale and algae on the surface of the heat exchange copper pipes of the oil cooler in the water were removed, purifying the water quality and improving thermal efficiency. 【Case Study】 ■ Target Equipment and Purpose: Water quality purification and algae removal for cooling water of molding machines (for oil coolers) ■ Description - When the cooling circulation water is treated with the polarizer, impurities (S.S) in the water aggregate in the tank. - A phenomenon is observed where precipitation occurs, making the water very clear. - The reproducibility of this water quality purification is certain and is an important point for understanding the effects of the polarizer. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Cooling water (refrigeration unit and oil cooler) [Magnetic water treatment device Vol. 9]

Effect on rust on the inner surface of pipes, how effective is it against scale adhesion?

When cooling circulating water is treated magnetically with a Polar Water Conditioner, tests were conducted to determine the effectiveness against rust on the inner surface of pipes and the extent of scale adhesion. The testing method involved two identical cooling systems; one was equipped with a Polar unit, allowing the circulating water to bypass and be treated magnetically, while the other remained untreated for comparison. The inner surface of the pipes using the Polar unit showed white calcium powder crystals adhering to the uneven surface of the pipes, effectively coating them (creating a corrosion-resistant film) and suppressing the progression of rust. In contrast, the untreated side exhibited less coating from calcium powder crystals, leading to increased rust progression. [Case Study] - Installation Location: A certain public factory in Tokyo - Test Duration: 1 year from June 1983 to July 1984 - Polar Installation Position: The Polar model "PI-32F (32A)" was installed in a partial bypass method to treat more than 15% of the circulating water volume. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Effect of Open Cooling Towers on Algae Suppression [Magnetic Water Treatment Device Vol. 14]

A comparative test was conducted at a certain public facility in Tokyo! We will introduce a case where water clarity improved with polar treatment.

Two identical cooling towers are arranged in parallel using the same source water, and both cooling towers were cleaned in the same manner before entering the test. One of the cooling towers was equipped with the Polar magnetic water treatment device "PI-40F." The other continued to operate as usual with automatic blowdown using an algae growth inhibitor. The side using the inhibitor showed a significant presence of algae throughout, with a lot of foaming in the water, while the side using the Polar device showed no algae growth at all, and the water clarity improved compared to before. [Test Details] - Two identical cooling towers are arranged in parallel using the same source water. - Both cooling towers were cleaned in the same manner before the test. - One cooling tower was equipped with the Polar magnetic water treatment device "PI-40F." - The chemical treatment side continued operation with automatic blowdown using an algae growth inhibitor. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
