The "Polar Magnetic Water Treatment Device" is a magnetic water treatment system that applies magnetic effects to water by being installed in piping, preventing rust, scale buildup, and slime formation. As a physical water treatment method that does not use water treatment chemicals, it ensures high safety of the treated water and reduces the burden of daily water management and maintenance while minimizing environmental impact. With over 6,000 units installed domestically, it is adopted in many air conditioning and heat source systems, including cooling towers, chillers, and various heat exchangers. One of its features is that it can be introduced without making significant changes to existing circulation systems. It supports partial treatment methods that handle about 5-10% of the circulating water volume, making it possible to retrofit existing equipment as well as new installations. The device has a compact structure, and its consumable parts are relatively inexpensive, making maintenance easy. It can be managed with simple inspections and replacement tasks approximately once a year, ensuring stable effectiveness over a long period. This contributes to improved equipment maintainability and reduced running costs. Since the 1970s, as a measure against red water in buildings constructed after that period, the Ministry of Construction has guided the increased use of PVC-lined pipes instead of white gas pipes (zinc-coated steel pipes). Furthermore, from the 1980s to the present day in 2002, many buildings, apartments, and general residences have experienced occurrences of red water every morning. As a result, in various housing complexes, investigations were conducted by removing the water supply pipes to examine corrosion inside the pipes. The findings revealed that most of the corrosion inside the pipes was caused by the potential difference between dissimilar metals at the valves and pipe joints, as well as damage to the PVC lining seals. It was determined that the dissolved oxygen in the water reacts electrochemically with the metal through the water. Introducing measures against red water. A "Polar Magnetic Water Treatment Device PI-40CF (connection diameter 40A)" has been installed in the underground water tank of the S.T Shin-Koiwa Mansion, which has a capacity of 24m³, using an independent circulation method. This was introduced as a longevity measure to suppress the deterioration of the water supply pipes and prevent scale. The Nagoya City M Century Mansion, after 27 years since its construction, began to have red water coming from the taps. Therefore, the board of directors considered various methods for one year and decided to adopt the Polar system. Water was sampled and analyzed from the room next to the manager's office. The S.S. Heights in Shimizu, Shizuoka City has reached nearly 20 years since its construction, so we installed a polarizer for the purpose of countering red water (protecting the water supply pipes). One month after installation, there was a slight outflow of rust (rust leaching effect) from the pipes, with iron levels rising from 0.04 to 0.16. Tokyo Max Beauty College did not have red water at that time, but it was being treated with chemicals as a future measure against red water. In large buildings and hotels, after more than 10 years, the dissolved oxygen, chlorine ions, and pH in the water can cause corrosion on the inner surface of the pipelines, leading to red water due to rust in the hot water and bath water, which becomes a significant operational issue.
