This is a high-pressure flow meter compatible with MAX 42 MPa. (*For 63 MPa compatibility, please contact us for details.) Connections include SAE, DIN, G (BSPP), and others. Compared to conventional gear meters, it has lower pressure loss, which can help reduce electricity costs for motors and other equipment. It is particularly used for performance testing of high-pressure hydraulic equipment and for cylinder position detection in tunnel boring machines. It can accommodate a wide range of liquids, from high-viscosity liquids such as adhesives, sealants, PVC, inks, and polyols to low-viscosity liquids like gasoline and diesel. There are two types of traceability options: (1) ISO/IEC 17025 calibration (equivalent to JCSS) (This does not include a system diagram or calibration certificate.) The KRAL OMG series features a screw-type (helical gear) structure that allows fluid to flow linearly, resulting in significantly lower pressure loss compared to conventional gear meters (circular gear type), and enables high-precision measurement of ±0.1% R.S. The flow meter is calibrated at 5 mm²/s, allowing for high-precision measurement even at high temperatures (low viscosity) compared to circular gear meters. Therefore, it is hardly affected by temperature changes (changes in liquid viscosity). It can be used for a wide range of fluids, including fuels such as gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and heating oil, as well as hydraulic oils, lubricating oils, ATF, polyurethane raw materials like polyols and isocyanates, inks, adhesives, sealants, PVC, greases, and most liquids other than water. High-precision measurement of ±0.1% R.S. is possible due to the precisely machined spindle. Particularly at high temperatures, the viscosity of oil decreases, leading to significant leaks with conventional gear meters, raising concerns about accuracy at low viscosity. This is because conventional gear meters conduct flow tests at the time of shipment at viscosities of 20 to 30 mm²/s. Volumetric flow meters struggle with low-viscosity fluids and require a certain level of viscosity to ensure accuracy. The viscosity of the test fluid serves as a guideline. It is widely known that ensuring measurement accuracy and linearity becomes very difficult when the viscosity is lower than the test viscosity at shipment, which poses a challenge. Therefore, many users implement measures such as linearization corrections, especially at low viscosity and low flow rates. The KRAL screw meter is calibrated at 5 mm²/s, equivalent to diesel oil, and can be used at high temperatures without correction. KRAL is a flow meter manufacturer capable of performing ISO/IEC 17025 calibrations (ILAC MRA certification). It is also used as a standard instrument (master meter) for flow meter calibration.
