At Harrods Department Store, galvanized steel pipes were used for the hot water supply system, and after 30 years, red water had occurred. To eliminate the red water in the hot water supply and prevent the need for pipe replacement, an "NMR Pipe Protector" was installed on the primary side of the hot water header. The iron content in the stagnant water at night, which was 1.294 mg/l before installation, decreased to 0.058 mg/l 47 days after installation, and further dropped to 0.022 mg/l 67 days after installation, reducing to 1/58 of the initial value. At that time, the facility had been in operation for 43 years, and there were significant concerns about the corrosion of the cooling water piping. As a countermeasure, we adopted the "NMR Pipe Protector." Before the installation of this product, the amount of black rust in the rust was 2.0%, but after 10 months of installation, it increased to 48.2%, which is a relative increase of 2410%. The prevention of red rust progression and the rehabilitation of piping due to black rust have been demonstrated. In the future, if all the red rust in the rust turns into black rust, this piping will not require replacement as long as external corrosion does not occur. This facility has been in operation for 22 years, and the corrosion within the pipes has progressed significantly, highlighting the need for pipe replacement due to leaks. However, it was impossible to carry out water outage work because it supplies chilled and hot water to four buildings, including commercial facilities within a large-scale complex. As a countermeasure, we installed the pipe rehabilitation device "NMR Pipe Protector." After installation, there have been no occurrences of leaks, and the results of regular mass analysis of the amount of black rust in the pipes have demonstrated that red rust is being prevented and pipe rehabilitation through black rust formation has been proven. The amount of black rust before the installation of the "NMR Pipe Protector" was 2.2%, which increased to 72.9% after 12 months and reached 91.7% after 45 months, proving the anti-corrosion effect within the pipes. If we continue to use the "NMR Pipe Protector" in the future, pipe replacement will not be necessary as long as external corrosion does not occur.

Our factory was experiencing a situation where the line stopped every month (20 times/year) due to strong calcium scale adhering inside the pump, causing internal damage and requiring disassembly and cleaning. After the installation of the "Non-Scaler," there have been no line stoppages for over six months. Upon checking the scale condition inside the pump casing, it was found to be soft and in fine particle form, rather than forming strong calcium scale. The cooling water used in open-type central air conditioning cooling towers has its calcium concentration rise to about 7 to 10 times that of the make-up water (source water) due to evaporation, resulting in the formation of hard calcium carbonate crystals on the surface of the cooling fins outside the cooling tower, which reduces cooling efficiency. The non-scaler, when installed in the make-up water piping, transforms dissolved calcium hydroxide in the water into calcium carbonate nanoparticles, dispersing them in the water and preventing calcium from solidifying and adhering to the cooling fins of the cooling tower. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

The heat exchanger at the chemical plant was subject to calcium scale buildup, necessitating disassembly, cleaning, and washing every five months. When scale accumulated on the heat exchanger, it reduced cooling efficiency and negatively impacted product quality. After installing a "non-scaler" following the cleaning of the heat exchanger, there was no calcium carbonate buildup on the hot water piping even after five months, resulting in maximum cooling effectiveness of the cooling water and maintaining the lowest defect rate for products. Additionally, the need to stop the plant every five months to scrape off calcium carbonate from the outside of the hot water piping was eliminated, leading to a reduction in product defect rates and an improvement in productivity. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

A follow-up survey was conducted in a condominium in Fukuoka Prefecture, 16 years after the installation of the NMR pipe protector. Before installation, the joints of the water supply pipes in Rooms A and B were inspected with a fiberscope, revealing red rust blockage rates of 50.7% and 78.2%, respectively, indicating significant progression of red rust blockage and the need for early intervention. Consequently, the NMR pipe protector was installed in the water supply piping. One year after installation, a follow-up survey was conducted under the same conditions as before installation, and the red rust blockage rates for Rooms A and B were as follows: [One Year After Installation] Room A: 50.7% → 48% [5.3%] reduction improvement Room B: 78.2% → 74.1% [5.2%] reduction improvement [Sixteen Years After Installation] Room A: 50.7% → 41.2% [18.7%] reduction improvement Room B: 78.2% → 68.4% [12.5%] reduction improvement From the above reduction improvement rates in red rust blockage, it was demonstrated that the NMR pipe protector completely prevented the occurrence of new red rust and that the red rust blockage transformed into black rust with a volume reduction to one-tenth. Additionally, it was proven that as long as this condominium remains standing for another 20 or 30 years, pipe replacement will not be necessary.

Calcium scale inevitably adheres to the interior of hot water boilers and similar equipment. To reduce the adhesion of calcium scale, traditionally, ion exchange resins have been used to soften the water by removing calcium ions before producing hot water in the boiler. The residual calcium in the water crystallizes as insoluble calcium carbonate within the boiler and adheres to it. Traditionally, strong alkaline agents were added to the boiler to prevent the formation reaction of calcium carbonate. However, strong alkaline hot water is highly corrosive to metals, leading to corrosion and deterioration of the boiler itself, internal piping, and hot water piping, which shortens the lifespan of the boiler and connected piping systems to around 10 years. The calcium scale prevention device "Non-Scaler" reacts the calcium in the water with free carbon dioxide within the Non-Scaler, forcibly transforming it into fine particles of calcium carbonate that are dispersed and flow in the water. Once calcium carbonate is converted into fine particles, it remains unchanged even under the high temperature and pressure conditions inside the boiler, flowing in its particulate state. Additionally, the effects of corrosion and deterioration caused by strong alkaline agents are eliminated, making it possible to extend the lifespan of the boiler and hot water piping by more than double.
