AXM57104 TSN Standard Development Platform

The AXM57104 TSN development platform provides an easy way to enter the world of next-generation industrial Ethernet, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), on Real-Time Linux (RT-Linux) industrial computers. The AXM57104 is a PCI Express v2.1 Gen1 compliant 4-port TSN Gigabit Ethernet PCIe NIC that supports extended TSN features such as timing and synchronization compliant with IEEE802.1 AS-Rev/AS and IEEE1588V2, CBS compliant with IEEE802.1Qav, TAS compliant with IEEE802.1Qbv, and PSFP compliant with IEEE802.1Qci. It supports 32 synchronized I/O pins and one PPS output, and allows for field upgrades of the FPGA hard core through an IAP that adapts to the evolution of TSN standards. The AX58400 EtherCAT slave controller, which incorporates a dual-core MCU, is a SiP product based on STMicroelectronics' STM32H755 microcontroller. It features a dual-core 32-bit ARM Cortex-M7 core with DSP extensions (operating at up to 480MHz) and a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 core with an adaptive real-time accelerator (operating at up to 240MHz), along with an integrated EtherCAT slave controller (with 2 FE PHYs). The AX58200 is a 2/3-port EtherCAT slave controller SoC that integrates an EtherCAT slave controller (ESC) with an ARM Cortex-M4F and a DSP extension of up to 192MHz, along with two fast Ethernet PHYs. The AX58200 supports standard EtherCAT protocols such as CANopen over EtherCAT (CoE), File Access over EtherCAT (FoE), and Vendor Specific-protocol over EtherCAT (VoE), providing a cost-effective EtherCAT solution for industrial fieldbus applications including motion/motor/digital IO control, sensor data collection, robotics, and EtherCAT to IO-Link converters. The AX58200 comes in a 144-pin HSFBGA package measuring 10x10 mm with a 0.8mm pitch, compliant with RoHS, and supports an industrial-grade operating temperature range of -40 to 105°C.

Standard EtherCAT slave controller

The AX58100 provides two process data interfaces (PDI), a local bus slave and an SPI slave, supporting connections with the most common MCUs and DSPs in traditional non-EtherCAT fieldbus applications. The AX58100 offers two memory spaces, ESC and function, allowing designers to determine which chip to access using chip select. The bridge synchronizes the contents of the two memory spaces with the EtherCAT master and remotely controls the functions of the AX58100 (such as PWM and SPI master). The AX58100 reports ESC and function interrupt events to the interrupt status register and notifies the external MCU/DSP to manage these ESC and function interrupt events, supporting level or edge interrupt trigger modes. The AX58100 is available in an 80-pin LQFP with EPAD, compliant with RoHS, and supports an industrial-grade operating temperature range of -40 to 105°C.
