The outer diameter of the spindle is very compact, at one-third that of conventional types, making it suitable for installation on various small machines. The spindle can achieve rotational speeds more than twice that of conventional types. It suppresses tool deflection, which is a problem during turning operations (such as cutting and grinding) when using small-diameter tools with a high aspect ratio.
