SPACECOOL's radiative cooling film has obtained certification for heat island countermeasure technology from Osaka HITEC.
SPACECOOL Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that its film utilizing the radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL" has been certified as a technology contributing to heat island countermeasures by the Osaka Heat Island Countermeasure Technology Consortium (Osaka HITEC), which implements a heat island countermeasure technology certification system.
The heat island phenomenon refers to the increase in temperature in urban centers compared to suburban areas due to the rise in buildings and asphalt associated with urbanization and the impact of artificial heat emissions. By applying this technology to building roofs and outdoor infrastructure, it helps to suppress the rise in internal building temperatures and contributes to the reduction of air conditioning energy required for cooling. In addition to this function, it has also been certified for its contribution to mitigating the rise in external building temperatures, which is essentially the heat island phenomenon.
