Long-distance wireless communication IEEE 802.11ah is finally permitted in Japan; a new wireless network expands with IEEE 802.11ah.

The SX-SDMAH-R2(JP) is an IEEE 802.11ah Wi-Fi HaLow wireless module that uses the MM6108 from Morse Micro and supports SDIO/SPI host interfaces. It significantly reduces power consumption in low-power mode for battery-operated IoT devices and operates in host mode driven by a CPU or microcontroller via SDIO or SPI. By supporting SDIO, it simplifies the reuse of design assets from embedded Linux systems that have previously used SDIO-compatible Wi-Fi modules. Additionally, by also supporting the SPI host interface, it enables implementation in embedded devices using microcontrollers that do not have SDIO, facilitating the development of smaller IoT devices.

The first domestically produced 11ah compatible wireless bridge "EX-150AH" can extend the communication range of Wi-Fi devices up to 1 km.

The EX-150AH(JP) is a wireless bridge that utilizes the long-range communication standard IEEE 802.11ah (Wi-Fi HaLow) to extend the communication distance of existing Wi-Fi devices operating on the 2.4GHz/5GHz bands up to 1km. By supporting Wi-Fi 6, it allows easy connection of Wi-Fi devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops to the EX-150AH(JP) without the need for a separate relay device, enabling straightforward access to a long-range communication network using the 802.11ah access point. Additionally, the EX-150AH(JP) features a USB Type-C port for power input, allowing it to be powered by USB Type-C compatible mobile devices or portable batteries.

This product is an access point compatible with IEEE 802.11ah, covering a radius of 1 km and supporting up to 675 clients. By using it in conjunction with the wireless LAN bridge (client) BR-100AH(JP), you can easily integrate or newly establish a long-distance wireless LAN network using the 920 MHz band into existing infrastructure.

11ah compatible wired - wireless LAN bridge allows for a wider and more flexible installation and use of wireless devices in vast factories and suburban areas than before.

This is a wired LAN - wireless LAN bridge compatible with IEEE 802.11ah. IEEE 802.11ah is a long-range wireless LAN standard that uses 920MHz band radio waves to achieve a communication distance of 1km and supports IP communication. By simply connecting the BR-100AH(JP) to a wired LAN device, you can easily participate in an IEEE 802.11ah wireless LAN environment. It supports the construction of a more flexible wireless LAN environment in vast areas such as large factories and outdoor spaces, where communication has been difficult with conventional wireless LANs.

About ROAD: The "Roundtable on the Purpose of Autonomous Driving (ROAD)" conference series has evolved into a unique platform for interdis-ciplinary dialogue and international collaboration in the field of autonomous driving and autonomous mobility. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will publish "Guidelines on the Interpretation and Application of Civil Liability in AI Utilization" in April 2026, and the Ministry of Justice will also establish an expert meeting to examine civil liability related to unauthorized use of images and voices generated by AI in the same month. As the full enforcement of the AI Promotion Act and the revision of AI guidelines are underway, it is necessary to design and operate governance based on the potential responsibilities that may arise retrospectively. In this seminar, based on the guidelines from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and drawing on litigation practice experience as a judge and lawyer, we will organize the basic framework for assessing civil liability and explain fundamental methods for designing and operating governance based on risk analysis.
