SPACECOOL wins the grand prize at the JR East Startup Program, challenging to improve the reliability of railway infrastructure using radiative cooling materials.

SPACECOOL Co., Ltd. gave a presentation at the "11th JR East Startup Program DEMODAY" held on May 27 and was selected for the overall grand prize, the "Startup Award."
In collaboration with JR East, which owns numerous outdoor electrical facilities, we focused on platform doors, the number of which is expected to double in the future, and conducted a demonstration aimed at adapting to global warming within this program. Specifically, we introduced the radiative cooling material "SPACECOOL," which can cool with zero energy, into the equipment section of the platform doors, verifying its practicality under railway conditions in terms of workability, durability, and temperature reduction effects. We confirmed with JR East that the installation is realistic and that a significant temperature reduction effect can be achieved. This is a proactive initiative to reduce future risks in advance.
Moving forward, we will expand the scope of our demonstrations beyond platform doors to various outdoor electrical facilities, vehicles, and buildings owned by railway companies, contributing to the realization of safe and stable transportation as advocated by JR East and other railway companies.
