Research Senior Director, Mr. Arishi Iwama
[Key Lecture Content]
With the proliferation of generative AI, the demand for data center establishment is increasing; however, securing the necessary power and land for establishment has become challenging in metropolitan areas. On the other hand, AI data centers that cater to generative AI require significantly more power compared to traditional data centers, but they offer a wider range of location options.
As a result, the development of data centers, which has traditionally been centered in metropolitan areas, is expected to expand to regional cities that possess multiple conditions such as the potential for renewable energy introduction and high factory concentration. This lecture will discuss not only the potential for the regional dispersion of data centers due to the proliferation of generative AI but also provide insights into data centers as investment targets.
