Yakeshi Electric will exhibit at the Space Science and Technology Union Conference to be held in November 2025. ■69th Space Science and Technology Union Conference https://smartconf.jp/content/sstc69/ Dates: November 25 (Tuesday) - November 28 (Friday), 2025 (4 days) The Space Science and Technology Union Conference is a large-scale event where people involved in space, including JAXA, various research institutions, universities, and private companies, gather together. Our company develops electronic sources for small satellites (including impregnated cathodes and LaB6) and manufactures peripheral components such as sensors and power supply units. This time, we plan to expand our display of electronic sources and include additional components such as tantalum and Inconel! In particular, electronic sources like impregnated cathodes are often purchased from overseas due to the limited number of domestic manufacturers, which can lead to difficulties in fine adjustments and flexibility. However, our company offers: ● Control of porosity and selection of emitters ● Manufacturing according to desired sizes and shapes ● Production starting from one unit ● Stable domestic procurement We can provide solutions tailored to your research and development needs! Please feel free to consult with us.

Porous material

Development of materials such as tungsten porous materials. The porous section utilizes capillary phenomena to inject special liquids for functional materials.

Development of materials such as tungsten porous materials. The porous part utilizes capillary phenomena to inject special liquids, making it a functional material. It can also be made lightweight. Gakuseki Electric has developed materials such as tungsten in collaboration with domestic and international material manufacturers to suit various applications. We have particularly focused on the development of doped tungsten with excellent high-temperature properties, as well as ultra-high purity tungsten such as 5N and 6N. However, there is still a strong demand from customers to develop materials with special functions in small quantities for even more specialized applications. To meet this demand, we have prepared material manufacturing equipment suitable for small-scale production and assist in the development of new materials from raw material procurement to condition setting and mass production support. *For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.

[Solution Case] Manufacturing of Emitter-Impregnated Porous W Electrodes

Conducting genuine trial and error with agility! Our approach to development.

To achieve low-energy discharge, the electrodes must be made of materials with a low work function. One method is to add oxides and manufacture them through sintering; however, if there are too many oxides, the sintering temperature for tungsten may differ, which can result in insufficient sintering conditions. In such cases, tungsten alone can meet the necessary sintering conditions and maintain its physical properties at a high level. Subsequently, emitters that have been manufactured separately and can add easy discharge properties are impregnated into the sintered tungsten, ultimately resulting in a state where both are physically and chemically bonded. To realize this, hundreds or thousands of patterns must be repeatedly experimented with and developed. This diligent trial-and-error approach, carried out with agility, is the attitude and characteristic of our company's development efforts. *For more details, please refer to the external link page or feel free to contact us.*

[Solution Case] Development and Effects of a Ultra-High Temperature 2800℃ Vacuum Furnace

Due to the ample temperature range, it is possible to completely remove impurities, including areas where the temperature is less likely to rise.

To promote crystal growth without allowing hydrogen molecules to enter the grain boundaries, a high vacuum environment was necessary. Additionally, to achieve secondary recrystallization of potassium-doped tungsten, it was also required to heat the workpiece itself to over 2000°C. As a result, we developed the equipment in-house. The first model achieved a work temperature of up to 2000°C, and the subsequent third model reached up to 2800°C. This equipment is utilized not only for the manufacturing of halogen lamp components but also for various manufacturing processes that require ultra-high temperature treatment. In particular, it has become indispensable for the removal of strong impurities, such as alumina for medical components and electrodes for ultra-high pressure mercury lamps. *For more details, please refer to the external link page or feel free to contact us.

<Functional Components> Heat-resistant / Corrosion-resistant / High strength / Low work function / Long lifespan / Wear resistance

Our products are used in industrial magnetrons, analyzers, X-ray devices, catheters, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, electric propulsion systems, air purifiers, sterilization lamps, and more.

Rare metal materials such as tungsten, molybdenum, and tantalum, which possess properties like heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and high strength. These materials are difficult to process, and there are only a few companies that handle them. Our company develops and manufactures "functional components" using these rare metal materials, aiming for further improvements in low work function, long lifespan, and high-performance stabilization. ◆ Achievements - Analysis - Mass spectrometers (electron guns, electron sources) - Semiconductor manufacturing equipment - (ion implantation) - Medical - CT scanners (X-ray sources) (catheters) - Space - Ion engines, Hall thrusters (heaters) - High-temperature furnaces - (reflectors) (heaters) (structural components) and more ◆ Technology - Coating (yttria, alumina, PTFE, etc.) - Material development using heat treatment furnaces with a maximum temperature of 2700°C - High-precision, high-aspect-ratio precision machining - Coils of various shapes - Joining of metals and more

<No welding!> Monel one-piece machining

t0.3±0.02

This is an introduction to a case study of molybdenum (Mo) processing. =============================== From a Φ25 cylinder with Φ2 and M3 screw holes, it is machined as a single piece up to the upper grid. The grid has a Φ16 hole with a diameter of 1.2, and the thickness is 0.3 ± 0.02. =============================== Parts that were originally separate can sometimes be proposed as a single integrated piece, considering the usage environment and cost. While machining rare metals can sometimes waste materials, there are often advantages such as <lower overall costs> and <not having to worry about joining methods>. If you have parts with such challenges, please feel free to consult with us!

Tungsten Screw [Challenging the Minimum Size!] <Processing Example>

Precision machining of tungsten, a difficult-to-cut material, into the smallest screws suitable for mass production.

We challenged ourselves to create the smallest size of tungsten screws using NC automatic lathes. We are machining from tungsten rods with a diameter of φ2 and lengths of 1000 to 2000L. As the size decreases, it is necessary to use thinner cutting edges. Thinner cutting edges lead to shorter tool life and a higher likelihood of chipping. We have optimized various materials and shapes, from commercially available tips to brazed tools. =============================== 【Processing Examples】 ● Total length 17L ● Central part M3 coarse pitch P0.5×3mm (Above) ● End part M2 fine pitch P0.25×7mm (Below) ● End part M1.6 coarse pitch P0.35×7mm =============================== Our company has a long history in the field of small and micro machining. We provide one-stop solutions from initial experiments and development to small batch production and mass production. For precision machining of difficult-to-cut materials and high melting point metals, please leave it to us!

[Seminar] The Current State of Autonomous Driving Technology and Challenges in Social Implementation

  • NEW
  • SEMINAR_EVENT

[Speaker] Mr. Takumi Aida, Analyst, Advanced Technology Lab, Japan Research Institute, Ltd. [Key Lecture Content] Autonomous driving technology has developed primarily around the enhancement of vehicle control based on a rule-based approach using various sensing data such as cameras, radar, and LiDAR. In recent years, there has also been progress in End-to-End approaches where AI learns integratively from recognition to control. While commercial applications of unmanned taxis and autonomous trucks are advancing mainly in the United States and China, efforts in Japan remain at the demonstration stage. Moreover, the spread of autonomous driving is changing the form of mobility provision from "ownership" to "service utilization," which is also impacting the nature of financial services. With the expansion of business models based on operational data and utilization rates, the forms of involvement of financial institutions are expected to diversify. This lecture will organize an overview of autonomous driving technology and its latest trends, and, based on domestic and international use cases, will consider the challenges for social implementation and strategies for promoting utilization, including the nature of financial services.
