SPACECOOL wins the "EXPO2025 JPO-WIPO AWARD" in the climate change category hosted by the Patent Office, utilizing radiative cooling materials to design a better future society.

The "EXPO2025 JPO-WIPO AWARD" is an award established for this occasion as a collaboration between the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) at the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
Our company has been awarded as one of the recipients in the "Climate Change Category." The award ceremony will take place on October 4 (Saturday) within the venue of the Osaka-Kansai Expo during the "International Forum on Promoting the Utilization of Intellectual Property for Achieving the SDGs," and the event will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel.
Judges' Award Points (Excerpt):
- "SPACECOOL" achieves a solar reflectance of up to 95% and a radiative cooling rate to space of up to 95% through its unique optical design, resulting in a surface temperature reduction of 2 to 6°C compared to the ambient temperature under direct sunlight, representing a zero-energy cooling technology. In a demonstration test in Saudi Arabia, it was estimated to reduce air conditioning energy consumption by an average of 29% and CO2 emissions by 21 tons over 15 years.
- In terms of intellectual property utilization, as a large corporate spin-off startup, we have acquired and secured multiple rights domestically and internationally from basic patents to applied patents since the development stage. We have built a network of applied patents for the higher concept with radiative cooling functions and are implementing an open & close strategy to balance collaborative promotion and rights protection.
