[Key Lecture Content]
"Flying cars" refer to aircraft that utilize the latest technology, equipped with three or more electric propellers, and have advanced automation, allowing for vertical takeoff and landing. They are expected to serve as aerial vehicles for urban transportation due to their low environmental impact (low noise, low carbon dioxide emissions), low cost, and ability to take off and land in confined spaces.
Globally, many companies are engaged in the development and social implementation of "flying cars," with various governments also cooperating in these efforts, and social implementation is anticipated to begin in 2026. In Japan, a demonstration flight was conducted at the Osaka Kansai Expo, attracting significant attention.
In this lecture, I would like to discuss the current status of "flying cars," the situation regarding social implementation, and the expectations and challenges that need to be addressed moving forward.
