Sputtering is a physical thin film formation technology (PVD) that allows for the coating of metals and dielectrics on the surfaces of substrates such as glass and plastic.

Sputtering is a new surface treatment technology that applies ion engineering, characterized by the absence of pollution issues like those associated with resin plating, and the ability to plate chromium (Cr), which is difficult with vacuum deposition. It can also plate Cr on various engineering plastics other than ABS resin, marking the dawn of a new era in plastic surface treatment with this new technology. In addition to Cr, almost all metals can be used, and it can produce color tones similar to resin-plated Cr, among many other excellent features. As a result, the range of applications is broad, and sputtering products are expected to be widely used for decorative purposes in automobiles, consumer electronics, audio equipment, cosmetics, and more.
