[Loctite Construction Series] New release of three silicone sealants that do not generate MEKO*1, "Oxime-Free*2".
Henkel Japan Corporation's Consumer & Construction Division has launched three alcohol-free silicone sealant products that do not generate MEKO (methyl ethyl ketone oxime) as a byproduct, along with one silicone sealing primer, on September 15, 2026, in anticipation of strengthened management regarding MEKO starting in April 2027. The lineup includes "Multi-Purpose Seal [Clear]" suitable for a wide range of applications, "High Durability Glass & Sash [Black]" suitable for windows, sashes, and outdoor areas, and "High Durability Bath & Kitchen [White]" suitable for water areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.
*1 MEKO (Cas NO. 96-29-7) methyl ethyl ketone oxime, or butan-2-one oxime
*2 No intentionally added oxime-based compounds are used as raw materials, and the design does not generate MEKO as a byproduct during curing.
The new products adopt a curing method that does not generate MEKO as a byproduct. They are easy to switch from conventional oxime-type silicone sealants and help reduce the additional management burden associated with MEKO. In addition to addressing MEKO, the performance required on construction sites has been optimized for various applications.
