3D inspection of IDC press-in pin height | Managing connection quality with SR7140
SinceVision SinceVision
The IDC press-fit pins of automotive electronic components must be aligned to a specified height to ensure stable electrical connections. To prevent connection failures due to height variations, we introduce a case study of 3D height inspection using SinceVision's SR7140.
The 3D laser profiler captures the height of the pins and detects height differences at each position. The state after pressing can be confirmed numerically, which can be utilized for managing the assembly quality of automotive electronic components. We present this inspection method as suitable for complex press-fit pin structures for use in the manufacturing process.
The repeatability accuracy published in the official case study is 0.03mm. Real-time detection allows for early identification of pin height discrepancies, supporting decisions to prevent defective products from flowing into subsequent processes.
You can consult us about measurement methods tailored to conditions such as pin shape, arrangement, reference height, and tolerances. If you are considering height management for automotive connectors or press-fit components, please provide information about the target workpieces.
