3D inspection of damage, deformation, and wear of double-layer seals | Quality control of automotive parts
SinceVision SinceVision
A seal component with two circular parts plays an important role in maintaining the airtightness and waterproofness of automotive components. To prevent leaks and functional degradation due to damage or wear, we present a case study of inspecting double seals using SinceVision's 3D laser profiler.
The inspection targets include damage such as cracks, deformation, and wear, as well as surface defects. By capturing the three-dimensional shape, we can check the condition of each part and utilize this information for quality assessment of the seal components. Understanding where abnormalities occur in the continuous seal shape contributes to quality management in the assembly process.
The official case study reports a repeatability accuracy of 0.04mm and introduces methods to support rapid inspection in mass production environments. It allows for the verification of the presence of damage and the condition of the shape, which can be used for quality evaluation of the seal components.
We will consider measurement conditions based on the shape and material of the target seal, the types of damage, and the judgment criteria. If you are considering surface inspection or deformation verification of double seals, please let us know the necessary inspection range and takt time.
