3D measurement of the cross-section of an irregular weather strip from four directions | SRI7140
SinceVision SinceVision
Non-contact measurement of automotive weather strips with a complex cross-sectional shape in black color from four directions. We will introduce a case of cross-sectional shape measurement and point cloud synthesis using SinceVision's SRI7140.
Four sensors are fixed at 90-degree intervals on a circular guide, with the sealing material passing through the center. Synchronized scanning is performed with an external trigger to capture width, thickness, gaps, radius, and more. Through coordinate transformation and synthesis processing, point clouds from each direction are integrated into a single 3D model, allowing for an overall evaluation of the complex cross-section.
The official case highlights the SRI7140's repeatability accuracy of 0.5μm and a synthesis processing time of 6ms for overlapping areas. Based on the synthesized cross-sectional information, it supports the verification of dimensions and shapes.
In addition to dimensions, it monitors surface anomalies such as bulges and dents, which can be utilized for notifications in case of abnormalities. Measurement data is automatically recorded, supporting trend analysis and condition adjustments from reports. Please consult us regarding inspection configurations tailored to cross-sectional shapes, materials, and transport conditions.
