InnovMetric Launches PolyWorks Metrology Suite 2019

Create a complete measurement sequence for a CNC three-dimensional measuring machine in just a few minutes.

To measure parts using a CNC three-dimensional measuring machine, it is necessary to define the appropriate measurement paths and parameters required for CNC measurement, known as the measurement sequence. This task can be very time-consuming. In PolyWorks Metrology Suite 2019, a new measurement sequence creation assistance feature is available that automates most of this process. The measurer can simply select measurement elements and add them to the sequence editing window of PolyWorks|Inspector, which will automatically create the following: 【Features】 ■ Optimal measurement paths to minimize measurement time ■ Probe directions suitable for each measurement element ■ Measurement paths that do not interfere with the part and its fixtures PolyWorks also provides a tool to insert new measurement elements at optimal positions within existing measurement sequences. In civil engineering sites, steel plates have traditionally been the standard, but in recent years, more companies are choosing wooden mats to suit site conditions. Hyper CLT mats, utilizing wood CLT as civil engineering materials, are being introduced for a wide range of applications including public works, temporary roads, access routes, material yards, and temporary parking lots. The reasons for their selection are not simply because they are "made of wood." The 5×10 panels weigh about 230 kg, making them lightweight and easy to install and remove even with small machinery, with a maximum capacity of 40 panels on a 10-ton truck. This also leads to improvements in workability and transportation efficiency. Furthermore, they add different values to the site compared to steel plates, such as reducing glare and radiant heat, noise control, CO2 fixation, and consideration for aesthetics. They can be partially used only where needed, allowing for differentiation in use from steel plates. This technology is registered with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism under NETIS, with the registration number "TH-250021-A." The introduction of Hyper CLT mats is expanding as a new option that combines wood, NETIS, and civil engineering.

Metal cracks are one of the concerns in equipment maintenance operations. Conventional welding methods for repairs can cause changes in the base material around the crack due to heat, leading to residual stress and deformation, which always carries the risk of "crack recurrence" and "secondary damage." Hinode Water Supply Equipment Co., Ltd.'s "Mechanical Stitching Method" is a new technique that allows for the repair of metal cracks without applying heat. By using special bolts and reinforcement plates, the crack is physically removed without affecting the base material at all. Repairs can be made even in environments where open flames cannot be used.
