By installing it on a thin wall that cannot have screw holes cut, you can form a joint for other threaded piping. There are no screw holes. There is not enough thickness to cut screw holes. There is not enough strength to cut screw holes. You are welding round bars or Rc union fittings just to create screw holes. There are places where you want to secure R threads.
