basic information
JIS Z 0203: Packaging Goods - Preconditioning for Testing It is referred to as preconditioning (known as conditioning in English) rather than testing, and is positioned as preparatory work for conducting other environmental tests such as vibration, drop, shock, and compression. The constant temperature and humidity chamber owned by JBL reproduces temperature and humidity conditions for most transportation environments, except for extremely low temperatures below -20°C. The internal dimensions of the chamber are 1000(W) x 1000(H) x 800(D) mm, large enough to accommodate a sizable cardboard box in its entirety. Among the proprietary standards of major manufacturers, there are cases where temperature and humidity environmental testing is conducted on packaged products before performing operational checks on the products. A rare example of a packaging goods testing standard that incorporates temperature testing is the ISTA in the United States. In ISTA 7D, temperature testing is defined as part of a sequence test combined with vibration and drop shock, and it allows selection from a total of 12 temperature profiles. ◆ JBL Packaging Testing Facility: ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) Certified since December 2010.
