It reacts with scale-forming components to dissolve the scale (silica scale does not dissolve, so it is discharged as small particles) and is expelled as waste liquid. Being neutral, it completely cleans the scale without damaging the piping, which can improve thermal efficiency and is expected to result in energy savings on electricity bills (the percentage varies depending on the scale buildup, but there are records of several percent savings). *By conducting the work in-house, a reduction in total costs (from cleaning to waste liquid treatment) is anticipated.
