A BER (Bit Error Rate) measurement device that enables the measurement of the BER of a digital TV tuner.
This device is an error rate measurement instrument for BS digital transmission paths that corresponds to the technical conditions of "Advisory No. 74 of the Telecommunications Technology Council regarding technical conditions related to digital broadcasting methods, using radio waves with frequencies exceeding 11.7 GHz and below 12.2 GHz." By combining it with our DTV signal generator (3532B-002), it enables error rate measurement compatible with the hierarchical modulation method of BS digital broadcasting. Additionally, it has a built-in TS input/output interface, allowing for error rate measurement from TS signals. It can measure error rates not only for BS digital but also in combination with various digital modulators. Furthermore, it supports general-purpose error rate measurement using PRBS or fixed patterns. Operations and the display of measured error rates are conducted via a host computer connected externally through GPIB. The Windows 2000-based GUI (Graphical User Interface) is designed to simplify complex function settings.
