■Overhaul of DC Motor for Press Machine ●Condition Before Maintenance Maintenance of the DC motor is essential, particularly for the commutator, but if it has not been maintained for a long time, the surface is often quite rough. In such cases, not only can there be poor rectification, but also intense sparking may occur. In this instance, signs of scoring and step wear were also observed. ●Maintenance Results (After) In the maintenance of the commutator, it is necessary to carefully perform the steps in the order of turning → undercutting → chamfering. This time, maintenance was carried out according to the prescribed flow, and you can see the before-and-after comparison in the photos. After that, the carbon brush fitting was done, followed by assembly. Although the schedule was tight, we also applied a varnish impregnation treatment, and the maintenance was completed smoothly, resulting in successful delivery.

■Maintenance of Wound Rotor Motor (Metal Bearing Repair) ●Condition Before Maintenance It was confirmed that there was a large crack in the metal bearing. By the way, large motors or older models often use metal for the bearings. ●Maintenance Results (After) We performed metal regeneration through a replacement repair. After melting the metal in a melting pot, we carefully conducted the welding work on the bearing to seal the crack. Subsequently, we carried out additional metal turning work to restore it to its original shiny condition. Depending on the condition of the metal, it is possible for us to perform the replacement in-house for cracks like the one this time. The inside of the coil was also dirty, so after cleaning and drying, we applied insulation reinforcement through varnish impregnation treatment. After assembling the main body, we painted it, restoring it to a condition similar to new.

■Maintenance of Cutter Motors for Offshore Construction Vessels ●Condition Before Maintenance/Repair (Before) The motor before repair was severely corroded overall, and the bracket cover, which was particularly corroded, had lost its original shape. Wear was also observed in the bearing housing of the load side bracket. Due to prolonged use at sea, the insulation values were also tending to be low. ●Results of Maintenance/Repair (After) We conducted inspections of each part and performed a complete overhaul. For the insulation reinforcement of the stator coil, we carried out cleaning and drying, followed by varnish impregnation treatment. We also processed the bush of the load side bracket and manufactured a new bracket cover, as well as repaired the corroded areas. After confirming that there were no abnormalities during the no-load power-on test, we proceeded with painting, and the repair was successfully completed.

■Reconditioning of Pump Motor Shaft by Thermal Spraying ●Condition Before Maintenance Initially, it was planned to replace the bearings on-site, but upon disassembly, severe wear on the shaft and significant damage inside the stator were confirmed. Therefore, it was decided to bring the equipment back to the factory for a complete overhaul, including thermal spraying. ●Result of Maintenance The worn and thinned areas of the shaft were restored through thermal spraying, and processes such as cleaning, drying, varnish impregnation and finishing, and bearing replacement were completed successfully. On the day of delivery, an unexpected issue occurred when the spare motor (which had been used in place of the serviced motor during maintenance) also stopped. However, since it was the delivery day, we managed to minimize production loss.

Since our establishment in 1949, we have been involved in the repair and maintenance of rotating machinery such as motors and pumps.
