A semiconductor optical amplifier capable of broadband optical amplification in the 1.5μm long wavelength band.
Broadband optical amplification can be achieved in the wavelength range of 1.47 to 1.61 μm. An optical gain of over 10 dB can be obtained across a wide bandwidth. It is possible to simultaneously amplify multi-wavelength light within the aforementioned broad wavelength range. SOAs in other wavelength bands can also be provided according to your requirements. Bidirectional SOA devices at 1.31 μm and 1.49 μm are also available. They operate with a 100V power supply, and the SOA bias current can be varied from 0 to 300 mA, allowing the optical gain for specific wavelengths to be adjusted from 0 to 20 dB.
