The measurable temperature range covers a wide spectrum, from ultra-low temperatures of -269°C (gold-iron-chromel) to high temperatures of 1600°C (platinum-rhodium-platinum), making it the highest temperature capable of being used as a contact-type temperature sensor. The sheath materials include two types: SUS316, which excels in heat resistance, corrosion resistance, pressure resistance, and impact resistance, and NCF600.
