Thermography is primarily offered for industrial applications. Its purpose is to detect abnormal heat generation of several tens of degrees Celsius, such as in the inspection of distribution boards in factories. As a result, compact handheld models have become mainstream, featuring small displays that allow for easy use over a wide area, with temperature analysis conducted thoroughly after capturing images. This is because the inspection process strongly focuses on quickly identifying any unusually red areas on-site. In clinics and treatment centers, it is common to compare temperatures before and after treatment, leading to a high demand for the ability to easily and instantly compare two images. Additionally, there are requests to show the images to the subject being photographed, which requires displaying them on-site and in a larger format. However, since compact handheld models dominate the industrial market, they lack the functionality for comparing two images or displaying them in a larger size. While there are larger display models and PC-connected cameras available for research purposes, they are quite expensive, costing several million yen. The Thermal View X-HR-B was developed to optimize both usability and cost in light of this background.
