"Paper-based phenolic resin laminated board" is an FRP that balances low cost and high performance. It is made by layering paper impregnated with a thermosetting resin called "phenolic resin" multiple times, and then applying high pressure while heating it. It is more affordable than FRP reinforced with glass fibers, carbon fibers, or synthetic fibers, and the bending strength of a 3mm thick test specimen measuring 25×60mm exceeds 98 megapascals. Its heat resistance is 130°C, insulation performance is 44,000 volts per 1.0mm, and it is resistant to solvents and oils, with excellent machinability.
