There are two types of KRECA felt: products made with petroleum pitch-based carbon fibers and those made with rayon-based carbon fibers. The petroleum pitch-based felt (KRECA Felt C, G) is a low-density non-woven fabric formed by needle punching KRECA tow. It is utilized as an internal insulation material in furnaces used at high temperatures above 1000°C, such as in vacuum deposition and vacuum sintering furnaces, taking advantage of its heat resistance and thermal insulation properties at high temperatures. Additionally, it is used as a protective material in filters and in workplaces that involve high-temperature operations or corrosive chemical solutions, leveraging its corrosion resistance. There are carbon grade and graphite grade options, each available in two different weights. The rayon-based felt (KRECA G Felt) is a product that has been carbonized from needle-punched rayon fibers.
