It is a foam plastic material with heat resistance up to 330℃, suitable for use as thermal insulation, cushioning material, and lightweight material at temperatures above 100℃. A significant feature is its ability to freely control the foam ratio (density) compared to other polyimide foams, allowing for the production of soft, lightweight low-density foams to hard, solid forms. Furthermore, it can be combined with other components for modularization (composite use), and by dispersing conductive fillers within the foam, it can also be applied as a lightweight electromagnetic wave absorber.

<Properties> ■ High heat resistance and excellent characteristics In addition to heat resistance of 330°C, it possesses chemical resistance, non-flammability, high strength, cold resistance, electrical insulation, radiation resistance, thermal insulation, and light weight. ■ Free control of foaming ratio By controlling the foaming conditions, the foaming ratio can be freely varied from 200 times to 1.1 times. By reducing the foaming ratio, the hardness gradually increases, transitioning from a sponge-like structure to a hard solid form. Therefore, it can widely accommodate required strength, thermal insulation, weight, and other specifications. ■ Free control of thickness It can be produced in any thickness, ranging from sheet-like forms of about 0.1 mm to block forms of over 10 cm. ■ Low dielectric constant and low dielectric loss tangent The dielectric constant and loss tangent, which are unique indicators of a material that show the degree of energy loss of radio waves, exhibit extremely low values characteristic of polyimide. Due to its high radio wave permeability and low energy loss, it is suitable for installation in areas where radio waves need to pass through. ■ Machining is possible For foamed materials with a foaming ratio of 10 times or less, various machining processes such as drilling and grooving can be performed. This allows for the creation of relatively complex structures.
